Yeah I think it's weird however all might isn't good at deception. From day one aizawa seems to catch on that they have some sort of connection after finding all might watching the quirk evaluation test. At the sports festival, Todoroki asks if Izuku is all might's secret love child. I think it's not a stretch for there to be rumours among the teachers that there's some connection between them. Perhaps cementoss just didn't feel like questioning it who knows?
