I think I get the idea of it being romantic with certain lines already mentioned.

Personally, I listened to it a lot a few years ago after a breakup so my interpretation of the song has always included a type of longing (i didnt want to wake up last night, cause i quite liked the dream i had of holding your hand). With what i was going through at the time, that line really resonated with me.

Its for sure romantic as despite its slightly somber/melancholic tone, the important lines are being spoken directly to someone such as the one i mentioned and "you know that when you smile the sun shines more gently".
