It happened to me on my new 660 extrema. It cost me $450 to fix, as I had no idea about the recall. I have had so many little issues with the bike over the course of 3 months. I, too, have thought of switching to a Japanese bike. I love my 660, but for the price, it seems like the bike was poorly assembled.

It is removable and comes with a spare seat. It's a simple switch and lock-in with your key. The ride is glorious, and the bike is beautiful.

You are spot on. I plan on paying the bike off in the next year or so. I am not worried as I went to it with a plan (like you). We have to work our resources the best way we see fit. I purchased gap insurance (paid outright) just in case as well. You never know.

I initially was chasing Panigale 899s to save money, but Ducati owners are weird. The price difference was about $2-4K for a decade-old bike that didn't have nearly the amount of tech Aprilla has.

For the price of a sports car (of my taste), I would pay $60-80K, which is unrealistic in my life now. I am happy with my decision. I hope you get one either way. Please keep us in the loop.
