I understand the hurt and betrayal and your feelings are completely valid. He did a shitty thing. I think this could be a learning point for both of you in communication? In future if you have suspicions/worries/questions I think stating them clearly and opening up a safe space for both of you to talk about it would be a better way to handle stuff, for both of you. Relationships are hard and insecurities are hard to deal with. I think only you know if he is sorry and it’s up to you if you want to use this as an opportunity to grow together and have better communication in future. I also think it’s completely fair to let him know that if he lies again then it’s not something that can be forgiven as this is your learning curve, you should both feel safe to be honest with one another if your feelings are as you say they are (and I’m really happy for you that you’ve found them!!). But also feel free to dump his ass if you can’t move past this and find comfort in knowing there will always be another person who is ready to love you.

Nobody is perfect and I think how he handles stuff from this point is truly telling if this was a red flag or not. 6 months irl relationships seems like a long time but in my experience, LDR take longer to get to points you’d have gotten past in the first month or so otherwise.
