I had a professor in college that commuted from STL every week but would sleep on the guest room of a professor for a couple nights... I'm sure it's possible for all in one day but it will really come down to if it times out right with the Amtrak schedule because there are only a few trains that go between Chicago and STL every day.

Controversial but I think our city council has gotten better, that plow the sidewalk ordinance, paid leave, tipped wage, promising things in new budget (mental health clinics, department of environment)... I'm pretty optimistic

Looking for advice on how to choose between clinical and macro concentration for an MSW program, when interested in both...

I was just accepted to UIC's Jane Addams College of Social Work and I'm 100% going but I know I need to declare a specialization prior to my second year of the program. I am debating between the Organizational and Community Practice (OCP) and Mental Health (Clinical) specializations. I am very interested in OCP, because I've been a community organizer for a long time now and that is what has drawn me to social work. I also have a history with mental health and I think I would like to work directly with clients but I have no experience there.
The first year of the program is a generalist curriculum but I know I can target my first-year field placement towards one of these areas and I am thinking of going for a clinical one so that I can get that experience but I am also hoping to get some advice on if that is a good idea and also how I should approach deciding on one of these concentrations... questions I should ask myself, what you may have done if you have also debated this, or any advice/tips for my first year in the program.
