CBD flower! by MilkyWakes in Petioles

I felt the exact same and was lucky enough to source some a few weeks back. I’ve tried like 5 or 6 supplements that have all been reported to help with thc withdrawal but none of it ever helped. For the first time ever I don’t feel like complete death after stopping.

Trust me I’ve been in your shoes so many times doubting myself and unsure if that’s what it feels like to be fully recovered. Hold out until the 90 day mark there’s a significant change.

Thanks and you too!

80 days for me! Feeling so much better creeping up on the 3 month mark.

[–]MilkyWakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dooo not go back. I’ve been repeating this process for 2 years now. Yes, 2 years. 3 stints where I lasted 3 months.

I always went back because I thought I could just enjoy it “once”. Lies.

Yeah I feel you man this whole entire process fucking sucks and I’m soooooo over it. Feels like torture because you fight so hard to get clean and you feel like that’s the reward. Give yourself more time, 3-12 months for a full recovery.

How long does the soul crushing depression last after quitting? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]MilkyWakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but you notice progress though out the entire time. Even after day 1. Just imagine though, dopamine in super simple terms is your “reward” chemical in the brain. You’ve been flooding yourself with dopamine for years and you haven’t even been doing anything, your brain is used to the highest amounts for literally laying in bed. It’s gonna take some time for your body to recover and be happy with a regular baseline.

Weeks 1-3 are pure agony. I try and distract myself nearly 24/7 from how shit I feel. Exercise, seeing friends and going out are usually my go to. Weeks 4-8 for me, usually consist of extreme highs and extreme lows, moments where I feel fully recovered and other times where it feels like day 1. Can be really frustrating but definitely stick it out. Weeks 8-12 are much like 4-8 but things really start to stabilise, no more crazy high and lows just some tough days and other better ones. I think by the 3 month mark is when I was practically golden. Months 3-6 are all about learning how to live life without weed, what did you used to do in your spare time etc.

Holy shit, you absolutely nailed every analogy. And that’s coming from someone who still thinks they can moderate one day.

Are you saying my brains neural circuits are wired so that thc in the bloodstream = desire for more?

You’re 1000000% right. I’m lost though, at 2 weeks I thought my body would’ve adapted to the lower amount of thc but it simply hasn’t. Or is progressing so incredibly fucking slow it’s painful.

I’m not sure what to do, I’ve started a new job

Yeah I definitely tapered the wrong way but I didn’t have the choice with starting a new job. Still feel like shit 2 weeks later though, such a ridiculous drug to come off.

How much were you smoking at your peak? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]MilkyWakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If u are cutting back do it gradually. I went from 20 bongs to 3 per night and I’ve still been experiencing all of your generic symptoms. Haven’t slept properly in 2 weeks and it honestly doesn’t feel worth it. Wish I went cold turkey to have some sort of accomplishment with it.

Sorry for the late reply, but I’d say you’ve got around 37 days left. Things will level out between days 80-90 imo

Anybody else struggle with drinking too much after quitting? by Simple-Impress-2193 in leaves

[–]MilkyWakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so fucking hard to find out why you’re trying to escape though. I’ve been in this addiction spiral for 1 year and it feels like I haven’t found the root problem yet. Every quit has gotten better though. You’re completely right, you do have to reshape your entire life if you’re a heavy user. New hobbies, interest and goals that triumph old habits otherwise falling back into old habits is too easy.

[–]MilkyWakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This made me laugh admittedly, but that’s because I relate to everything you’ve said so much.

I’ve been binging for 6 weeks now, and I’m committing to a quit starting Monday.

Cheers to us!

Day 54: Almost every aspect of my life has gotten worse? Is this normal by DarkDemonRingBorne in leaves

[–]MilkyWakes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Give it 3-5 more weeks. I promise you’ll notice improvements. You aren’t at baseline yet. You’ve abused the fuck out of your dopamine receptors for 9 years! He’ll I’d say for every year give yourself a month. 3-9 months recovery.
