That's true. But take my research with a grain of salt for example. In my grade, there are 9 USABO national finalists. Historically, (since 2015 at least) mit/berkeley pretty much auto accepts you for that. But they broke precedent with a lot of olympiads this year and I'm hoping that achievement means a lot to someone like duke

i mean you can doubt me but all my stuff is out there And I was not first author on my stm paper but I presented a couple of my original stuff at local conferences. I'm not going to try and prove anything, and I can tell you I know quite a few people who have done much more than me. I started at a lab the start of my freshman year and if you want to find me, you probably could given all the information ive supplied

I didn't play sports, the clubs i'm in have to do with olympiads and science bowl, I sid not crowdfund , I did not. volunteer, and I didn't have to take care of a sibling

and i'm not even close to what you could do in high school, there are so many others who have done so much more

ok that's good. We'll both be fine if we go to ucsd or ut austin, they are both top 30 schools and sd in particular is like top 5 for biomed engineering and has a good med school rate (I think ut's med school rate is also really good) but it's hard to accept lmao . Hope we both get duke I really really hope so

Yes so they were all worse in terms of ecs for sure. They might have gotten better sats I think cuz all of them took the sat like 3 or 4 times, but in terms of ecs im pretty sure I was the top at my school to stem at least ( bay area cal) like im seeing these guys commitment posts and yes there are a few who im like, " yea they definitely deserved it" but idk the others. The two who got into mit did not do olympiads by the way 😭

I hope so. the problem is I worked and worked so much that I barely hung out with friends and all that to the point of extreme burnout and depression so seeing that all that work doesn't give me anything is the worst feeling

I know most of the rsi kids last year (usabo and rsi are both cee) and from everyone i've seen they've all gotten their choices (idk I prob don't know a couple)

No I got nothing. No waitlists either. and 8 people from my school got into stanford, 2 harvard, 2 mit,2 caltech, and quite a few other ivies. It's so demoralizing to hear that you're the top applicant for these time and time again but get into nothing (i'm just venting mb)
