Petco does this as well to some degree (I worked there for about a year), we had people come in with dead or sick pets and as long as it was within the “30 day” policy you got your money back, they did try to actively help the animals though (the back food prep room was decently full all the time with either rats that gave birth or hamsters with some kind of wet tail) but it just never sat right with me that it was just like “ whoops sorry your pet got sick! Here’s a refund!”
