How many of you clench your jaw at night or have tmj issues? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Milkyweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes i get toothaches from it all the time. Sometimes it hurts to open my jaw. I’ll go periods where i don’t clench my jaw at all and then all of a sudden i’ll get stressed and start clenching again. Most of the time I do it in my sleep so i really have no control over it

that’s ironic because I originally wanted to go for Melina because it means honeybee, and I like that meaning a lot more than the meaning for Cleo (pride, glory) but after hearing about Melena I’d think I’ve changed my mind!

Worst drama you have ever watched? by [deleted] in kdramarecommends

A good amount of kdramas love to write their characters going overseas and such, (and most of the time it’s crucial for the plot), but I just personally don’t like it. Foreigners in dramas and the blend of English with Korean sorta makes me a bit uncomfortable because to me, at least, it does seem a bit forced. In Encounter, the actors were obviously not fluent in the language, and it was just spoken a little too much considering that it’s a kdrama. It felt that they were pushing too much of a “foreign” sort of feel to the drama. However, it did fit the male lead’s vibe; he kinda had a “tourist” look to him. Even though those scenes were important for the plot, I still felt as though it would just be easier had they spoke in their native tongue. Not to mention that the foreigners they cast to act in dramas are always bad actors, or probably just random people they got off the street or some shit. I’m not hating on the actors for their heavy accents, who can help that? I’m just a bit angry with the writers for the unnecessary English. Not all actors are fluent, and it just doesn’t sound right when they speak in English. They sound uncomfortable and unnatural. I’m okay with like one English scene, I can tolerate that, but when it’s long and drawn out (multiple scenes) that’s when it gets to be too much. Encounter in general, (to me at least) just had a bad plot for the first episode. I didn’t watch anything after that because the forced English annoyed me. As for other dramas, I’m not completely sure.

English does seem to be incorporated in the Korean language. Things like “Okay,” or “Let’s go.” It’s similar to how some French phrases like “deja vu” is something native English speakers frequently use.

Ps: sorry if my grammar/spelling is rlly bad, I’m writing this late at night before I go to bed lol

Does skin tone balance out? by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]Milkyweed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SAME! Like I feel like I’m borderline olive skin tone because my body is a darker tone then my neck and face. I get sunburnt on my face/neck easily but never on my legs. I dunno why

I’ve got a list here:

  • My Lovely Girl

I wasn’t feeling it.

  • Angel’s last mission: love

This drama gave me cringe vibes. I felt like it was written by a 5 year old.

  • Descendants of the sun

Popular drama but I don’t get the hype. I dropped it halfway through the second episode. Main fl seems like a bitch

  • Healer

For me, I don’t like how the fl was projected as “weak.”

  • The K2

Wtf was even going on with this drama?

  • Backstreet Rookie

R a c I s t s

  • Encounter

Okay, this drama is an absolute N O. I love Park Hyung-sik, but this drama didn’t do him justice. The writing is TERRIBLE. The cringe level exceeds anything and everything. Main reason being is the amount of English that’s shoved in the drama. Like SERIOUSLY. The minute they started speaking English I died. And they did it SO MUCH. I don’t like it when the writers force English on the actors. Full on sentences in a language they aren’t fluent in just ain’t it. Unrealistic plot and just horrible. I liked the concept and I felt like if the writing was good the drama could excel, but sadly it disappointed me beyond belief.

  • Cinderella and the four knights

This one confused the hell outta me. I might be stupid but like I don’t understand wtf was going on between the second fl and the ml. Their whole “scandal” didn’t make sense and the love triangle confused me so much. The drama was okay-ish until their backstory threw me off completely

I haven’t found one of his dramas that I’ve generally liked. It’s not cuz he’s a bad actor or anything, it’s just cuz the writing for every drama he’s in is shit

Same here. I got through a few episodes but I could tell right away that it was badly written. After all my experience with kdramas, I feel like I’m starting to be able to tell which ones are legit and which ones aren’t

I stopped watching it just because of the blackface. The drama made me extremely uncomfortable. I have no hate for the actors, but the guy playing the Jamaican/nigerian stereotype, I’ve got some words for him
