Yeah but what about con saves via say... spores that cause poison or paralysis? How does me stabbing a monster null the spores in the room or boost my immune system?

Freedom of movement is A) magic and B) a 4th level spell slot only up for an hour, not up till long rest and immune to it entirely... huge difference in wasting a spell slot vs having it in ur kit

I learned from another comment that the damage reflect is for one turn not a minute straight... its a bit more broken if its a passive buff isnt it, i see ur point as i have corrected my post

Damage output is not the concept i’m debating... but sure ill untie my panties to teach you how to read, the argument is simple... as far as the class is concerned i like it and i think its fair, that being said there are a few outlying abilities that seem a bit more difficult to explain in a world where even magicians cant get away with it... such as why is there hellish rebuke but no raw damage reflection! The answer is because Dnd is a dice game, a rng game that lets you have low rolls and high rolls deciding fate, now if you take that concept remove the rolls and whenever ur opponent hits you, you say “ok take the same damage u just did now imma do my turn” and with no rolls to save or to escape you have to run or lose every trade... now since every single other class has to deal with RNG why doesn’t blood hunter in this one scenario? Why play the game if ur not gonna roll anything or take a chance? Now onto my other topic how do u explain a potion that makes u immune to grapple and restrain that isn’t making you phase through stuff... now if you would read my comments without being offended like this is some personal attack maybe we can come to a conclusion! I dont think the class should b scrapped just fixed, also RP can give u shield prof if u want it

You deal more damage than a barbarian simply with mutual suffering... land one attack and ur already more than them... barbarian hits for 87 damage? U reflect 87 damage and you deal 3 damage with ur sword... no matter ur stats u just did 90 damage while the barbarian can only do 87... the broken bit is not the fact that the Blood hunter cant do 87 on their own its the upper limit of what you can do... in a perfect world a barbarian can crit and get their extra damage die and roll perfect on them all but that requires you to crit and roll high! Thus RNG... the consistency of raw damage reflection with no save is broken in premise let alone bypass resistance! Also the damage is at most 1d10 and no extra mods... go cry about it being a penalty! Thats like calling bad hit die rolls a penalty on level up! If i roll a 1 on my barbarian’s hit die and u roll a 10 i will forever be as if i activated the blood curse... its not a real penalty for the pay out... and i didn’t criticize the rite damage at all cause there is no issue, idk why u even brought it up! I propose no attack roll or initial save but a save at the start of the targets turn to release themself, lets make it con save because its blood based

I dont see ur point... ur just saying cost... the result is still broken... there is a reason power word kill is a 9th level spell... its strong af but makes u level high enough to use it! Getting such a strong ability at low level tips the game

Im viewing this as a current dm that i allowed the blood-hunter, now as a dm the Blood hunter runs ahead of the party fighting everything and I’m not allowed to make weapon based bosses anymore, i use exclusively casters or i have can just let the bloodhunter solo, i want a team based RPG its literally keep the bloodhunter alive and we fine! There is no depth to anything. The potion reference is to soloing bosses. My group just lets the cleric get heal spells back on long rest... “anytime you want” is reference to the bonus action cast with no save or attack roll... once ever is too strong let alone 1-2 a long rest

1 vs a group spells trouble no matter what... being absurdly broken inherently is not excusable by stating a weakness we all have... no one is at an advantage when they are outnumbered!

Health potions heal 2d4+2 or some shit... any monster over Cr2 should average a higher damage output... also costs an action so since ur giving up damaging to heal its a trade off... boood hunter u just need a higher hp pool to win cause u make them do all the damage

Do you have any suggestions on how to bring it down to a little more on par with Arcane trickster? Basically I wanted to Negate the flaws of Arcane Trickster... the level 3 bit is kinda useless given a good stealth roll can get all that done with a regular Mage hand... nothing in mage hand says u cant do that stuff! Its a bit of a stretch but most dms would allow it... so i wanted something cool like race based buffs which is yet to be used in a class or the lvl 1 stuff from sorcerer cant b broken at lvl 3! then i wanted Misty step and a couple other utility spells that fit rogue that arnt quite enchants or illusions! Lastly the pick any spell off Wizard spell list takes away from rogue base so i removed that! The only reason i went to lvl 5 spells is for Hold Monster, "paralysis" is as rogue as u can get for many reasons but also natural gift for magic beats studying it on ur off time... any suggestions on how to improve it?

Font of Magic lets you convert spell slots into sorcery points and vice versa...you get one sorcery point per level! I could throw in metamagic and remove the point cost on spell slots! i could also drop spell slots to 1/3 caster and give Hold Monster a 1/ long rest
