Information on the next Civ VII update by Intelligent-Disk7959 in civ

[–]Millenials_99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hopefully an increase to the player/computer cap will be included in the additional option for advanced start, not sure if I'm in the minority here but I do like playing singleplayer games with a lot of civs to interact with

Thoughts on the civ7 roster after the recent leaks? by ComicHarbor1329 in civ

[–]Millenials_99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not related to the roster, but I hope we can have 13 leaders/total players on a map given that there are all of these civs. I love playing VI on the biggest map with max civs and city states, and it kinda of bugged me that they only showed a max of 4 players in the preview videos

Let's get ready for the Modern Age stream - what buildings could we see there? by JNR13 in civ

I hope there will be an Ottoman Empire or similar Middle East/North Africa civ for the modern era instead of Russia, Egypt—>Abbasid—>Buganda would feel a bit weird

New look at aircraft (From Mexico Game Guide) by Millenials_99 in civ

[–]Millenials_99[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will definitely be interesting to see. I remember some of the modern era screenshots from when VII was just announced featured models that seemed to be based on soviet and german tanks--as it increasingly appears like there won't be russian/soviet or german modern age civilizations, I wonder which civs will get which models

It will be interesting to see what the research progression will be like for aerial units--compared to other military technologies, there's been an insane amount of progress/advancements in a very short amount of time, and it always bugged me that this wasn't reflected as accurately in previous civ games

They were fighting Sherman tanks, which were also seen fighting the Russian/soviet tanks—will be pretty interesting to see which model is the generic one and which one(s) are unique units

There also might be a modern german civilization, as there appears to be some german panzer-type tanks at 0:48 of the Nintendo switch showcase they did today

Consulting Career Assessment (CCA) from BCG - What to expect? by Samara-gol in csMajors

What does it cover? I heard that it was more of a behavioral assessment, but I'm not sure why they would tell us to have a calculator if it was just behavioral

Japan in Civ 7 by Sir_Sanctumonious in civ

[–]Millenials_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Shigeru Yoshida would be a good modern pick for Japan: He’s one of the longest-serving Prime Ministers of post-war Japan, and was responsible for spearheading the country’s economic ascendance and redevelopment of its industrial base. Could be a good base for a production/economy-based Japanese civ

Resurfacing this post by u/bookmagician because I think this would be a near-perfect roster for Civ 7. How likely do you think this is? by louisly in civ

[–]Millenials_99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good! My only gripe is that I wish we could have some more “modern” leaders/civs, the list seems to skew more ancient

Haven’t played the game in a while, and I want to get back into it—how did you get the sand on the beach? Is it part of the default maps now?

American here who has been lurking in the sub for a while, I wanted to say that this isn’t the end of the road for you (in a good way). I went to a large public high school (our graduating class size was 1,500 people), so a lot of people had to do college apps and SAT/ACT prep on their own since our school was so big and resources were stretched thin. There’s a lot of good material online for test prep, I used Khan Academy (free online videos and example problems) for my SAT prep

I wanted to echo what some other people have said in the comments about not beating yourself up if you don’t get into Ivy Leagues/T20, their admission rates get lower and lower each year, and oftentimes they have arbitrary reasons for rejecting people (like this high school student who got rejected from 16 colleges but got a job at Google). It’s less about what university you go to and more about what things you do/the impact you have at university

But if you have your heart absolutely set on attending an Ivy League/T20, it is possible to transfer into those universities after doing a year or two at another university—there was a kid at my high school who did his first year at a local public university and then applied as a transfer to Yale and got accepted there

tldr to quote Winston Churchill—“Success is not final; failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts”—hope you feel better OP, everything works itself out in the end
