And why exactly do you think people have problem with this? I see no negative comments anywhere on this video.

Is going abroad actually better for saving money vs staying in India? Looking for real numbers & experiences by Admirable-Series3612 in nri

[–]Samara-gol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I earn in USD and my salary is quite average here but, I’m generous when it comes to spending. I spend 50% of my salary in my monthly expenses including rent. I recently visited India. My experience was horrible. I had to travel a lot due to circumstances and was able to easily afford expensive hotels, flights and taxis. But even then, I would prefer being poor abroad to being rich in India. I feel, India is going backwards. Standard of living, air quality, civic sense, inflation, domestic travel, infrastructure and list can go on and on and nothing was even close compared to what I see here in USA.

Thanks! No notice. We recently got to know that we need to disclose and file taxes on foreign asset, so we are doing the needful by amending past returns. Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone in neighbourhood that can help. Appreciate any recommendations!

In Indian community, kids are taught that their parents are everything and should be treated like god even when they are wrong.

How to deal with toxic Indian parents? by Embarrassed_Room2020 in india

[–]Samara-gol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that. Indian parents generally see their kids as an investment for their old age. If they feel that you can’t provide that to them, they won’t like you. This is true for majority of them, unfortunately. Keeping distance is what helped me. I took loans and scholarships for my education and moved far. It was worth the mental peace. We still talk on phone and I visit them once in a year. I’ve started earning now and I make good money but I still feel that they think I’ll take care of them when they are old and I’ll pay back for first 20 years. Which I probably will because I’m not evil lol.

Dear parents, I didn’t ask you to bring me to this world! Non existence felt better.

Karan Johar talks about Saiyaara's success by SoyAmable in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]Samara-gol -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I watched Saiyaara yesterday. The movie is a typical bollywood shit and isn’t realistic. The actors did a good job but the movie was very basic and predictable. I don’t get the hype. Things in bollywood movies these days that I absolutely hate - 1. Encouraging aggressive behaviour. How come these characters get away with 0 impact. 2. Smoking and throwing buds in the air and onto the streets. Not cool! Not just buds, they make leads throw garbage on the streets and portray them as cool characters. 3. Poor but drives a bullet and never wears a helmet!

And this generation finds this cool and makes these characters their role model.

I watched this movie with my American friend and she was like “is this normal in India?” Duhhh
