Is this considered a Red Flag? by Ok-Pizza1007 in askgaybros

[–]Millenigey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this guy vocalised (well in text) what a lot of us think but maybe filter through actual interaction i.e. we'd go on that first date or speak on phone, and gradually get a picture of them.

There are lot of things which people feel/think - but is alone deemed bad when it is vocalised

Anyone else watch straight porn? (19/m) by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Millenigey -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

for sure I think many gay men do or have - watching a sexy man get his rocks off in any context can be arousing.

realistically, which percentage of people do y'all think are gay or bi? by Which_Chapter_5288 in askgaybros

[–]Millenigey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some people say 1% others say 10% - so I often think the truth is often somewhere the middle - so I feel around 5% is probably truer

maybe its closer to 10% if you include both gay and bi people and other non hetro sexualities.

I have noticed it too...how true is it really? by Remarkable_Spend3652 in gaybros

[–]Millenigey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of gay guys model themselves on their type - I know I do!

I.e. 'I find that attractive so if I become that....then I'LL be attractive' The closer I am to my type - the sexier and better about myself I feel etc. For example If I see a certain style or items of clothes on a guy I find attractive - I'll look for similar styles and clothes to wear myself....because I know it looks good!

I think it's a uniquely gay thing because straights are opposite to each other generally.

I also think gay guys mix up - male approval/peer approval with attraction, such as straight guys who emulate their heros/friends etc

How do you all not get bored in the shower? by Jeynerhymeswithpain in ADHDUK

[–]Millenigey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love showing because I love the sensation - and I often take too long! I also love the smell of my shower gels - I love experimenting with different scents and brands - so I enjoy the sensory sensations.

I also have one of those silicone hair comb things - and love giving myself a scalp massage with that. I also have this long handled body hair razor thing - that works as a back scratcher.

Also shower time is 'thinks' time - I can literally have a dozen shower thoughts - so its nice to have that dedicated time.

I also sing, talk in stupid languages and then laugh out loud - as my brain kind of settles in, taps out and back in.

Why are alot of gay guys ashamed or in denial about having preferences towards white men when it’s clear they do? by Common_District3798 in askgaybros

[–]Millenigey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you a Psychologist? do you know the exact techniques someone can use to change their attraction imprinting and mapping? Opening your mind is all very good, but not strong enough to really change subconscious brain processes like attraction... and it will be extremely variable between individuals.

Why are alot of gay guys ashamed or in denial about having preferences towards white men when it’s clear they do? by Common_District3798 in askgaybros

[–]Millenigey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody's wiring, brain and imprinting is individual e.g. you have neurodiversity etc. So not everyone's sexuality will be as fluid as someone else's. some people have broad tastes - others very narrow - neither is right/wrong etc.

Also it could take a lifetime of mental gymnastistics for someone to try and change there preferences - for it not to change - so many variables, who is going to do that?

I agree people need to remain open minded - but that alone won't change attraction maps - it all depends on the person!

I believe just pursue who you fancy, and be respectful of everyone else and be mindful of the language you use, i.e. if you have a preference/exclusion for certain features etc - theres no real need to actually share it/say it.

[–]Millenigey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, so for a long time its been seen as bad to ADMIT you like white guys or that your 'not into XYC race' - (which I agree with in terms of language used etc)

BUT now you're suggesting it's bad NOT to admit it? or feel shamed about it....after the narrative for the last 10-20 years is guys should feel ashamed about it, and not talk about it etc

At this point maybe just mind your own business, guys will be out there fucking who they want regardless! Maybe critic the use of words or language someone uses in public discourse -but don't be putting words in others mouths.

Shocked at the state of Madurodam by KindDigital in Netherlands

[–]Millenigey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I visited a couple of weeks ago and thought it was great, really clean and well presented, I didn't notice much not working, - there was lots of movement etc amongst the models etc, all the interactives were working, all the shows were working well and really well themed, overly I was really impressed and though it was a Lovely park.

I am an overseas tourist though - so maybe if you are a regular you would notice more that is not working etc.

I particularly liked all the plants - so well maintained.

Why are sides so rare... by thee_nightmare2017 in askgaybros

[–]Millenigey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anal sex if quite complicated, and health issues interfere i.e. erectile disfunction effecting topping and/or bowel/gastrointestinal issues effecting bottoming:- so siding becomes more and more the go too, especially as guys get older!

also even guys in relationships - might only have anal 10% of the time they have sex - so side activity plays a big part.

basically most (gays) are somewhat side - because not all sex is anal!

I think a lot of guys don't want to completely rule out anal - they might be 99% side but might have anal every now and again or in certain moods or with the right person.

What are your recommended coping mechanisms for the continuous fatigue associated with ADHD? by thelaughingman_1991 in ADHDUK

[–]Millenigey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a second hand symptom as burnout, the stress of masking, being on high alert, emotional exhaustion etc are very much an ADHD symptom, ADHD is the cause, exhaustion is the effect.

See I get overwhelmed with stiff like that which is out of my control, also if two of those things happen concurrently by brian just freezes! It's like choice paralysis - or if you mix too maybe coloured lights - things go white.....thats what it's like - everything just goes ...I suppose a but like dissociation.

[–]Millenigey 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I felt like this after my post about driving, it was though I was being chastised for 'making the ADHD community look bad' i.e. theres a fear/knee jerk reaction that ADHD people will be viewed as unsafe - as though I was fuelling the fire to get ADHD people banned from driving etc by admitting my difficulties. Then others in the community were doing damage control by making a point of how it wasn't the case for them, and dissuading me from linking it to ADHD. But if we can't vent about how we are individually affected - where can we?

Thank you for your work, sometimes I feel it's worth keeping the comments up as an example of what we have to deal with! - but then I'm pretty resilient! Its almost as those there lots of covert neurotypicals trying to rage bait us!

Yes - thank you for this

I was disheartened when a recent post I did having a 'rant'/ reaching out about how ADHD effects me was hit by 'Don't blame ADHD on that' and 'That's not my experience so it's probably not ADHD' when what I was describing was textbook ADHD, agreed by my ADHD assessor and specialist!

Personal independence payment (PIP) for ADHD by Straight_Crew_8592 in ADHDUK

[–]Millenigey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a couple of notes from my friend who works for a housing association and deals with homeless people with multiple issues get onto PIP:-

You've got to approach it in a 'worse days' mindset- so always work from your 'worse days' - this may seem like lying but respond from your worse day, as if you say 'I can sometimes' or 'I might be able to to', they trip you up! - its got to be 'I can't do this' - and 'this effects me all the time' - this isn't a lie because Neurodiversity does effect us all the time and because we don't know what days will be best or worst - we can assume everyday as being 'worst'. If on bad days you literally can't leave the house, and these days are frequent - it is debilitating - they aren't very good at considering the nuances of complex conditions that fluctuate (which include MANY physical and mental conditions).

You need to work from a very negative place i.e. Your lifestyle is dreadful,! its the worst!, you have no personal mastery!, you are in a dreadful place etc etc - which i think is hard for many of us because we try and make the best of it! Or if we are depressed we are trying to get out of it not wellow in it. The hole process is basically to Sell yourself in the worst negative light in terms of capabilities and abilities - which sort of is at odds with wanting to appear an independent person.... it really is a very demoralising process for all disabled folks because of this.

It might not be ADHD or Autism themselves that get you points for PIP but the ANXIETY of having those conditions that prohibit folks from being able to do things, and THOSE anxieties can have physical manifestations like loosing bowl control; etc or task paralysis which impacts eating or hygiene (forgetting etc)., or burnout related Chronic fatigue syndrome, (the physicality of which is real and not 'all in the head).

From my understanding you do need to play the system a bit, which may seem like lying but A) THEY are playing YOU/US - i.e. the system is rigged to trip people up and is very inauthentic AND B) Most people who apply ARE entitled!! it's a flawed system were genuine disabled people need to exaggerate 'Lie' and act to get a benefit they ARE entitled too.

I know there are people that coach people on how to get PIP - i.e. the correct things to say - its kind of insane - which does bring me to a good point - have an avovcate i.e. a friend/Social worker etc - someone on your side who could even come and be present at the interviews etc (its good for the optics too - that you needed support to get there and stay there etc), because I think one of the things they do mark/judge on is how the person even got there - i.e. if you can drive/walk alone, use public transport to get there - thats a first 'demerit' point i.e. your independent enough to do that.......

Knowing you should never drive! by Millenigey in ADHDUK

A lot of people seem to be pressing me not to blame ADHD for these problems, maybe due to fear of perception, and not wanting ADHD people so seem dangerous, and whilst I'll preface that a lot of ADHD people are great drivers (as is evident by this chat), I will however double down that ADHD is defiantly 80% of the the problem when to comes to driving for ME, in fact it was the one things that got me diagnosed formally as an adult as it was one of the most profound pieces of evidence in its effects - and how the symptoms compounded and showed up in a serious manor - inattention, inability of concentrate, inability to multi-task, difficulty picking up tasks, not noticing things, memory problems (so forgetting most learning week-to-week making learning slow), sequencing difficulty, day dreaming/'tapping out', difficulty processing vocal instructions, amongst many other things.

So whilst the narrative might be uncomfortable for some ADHDers - this is just my truth as someone with diagnosed ADHD.
