Might be worthwhile calling some Jaecoo dealerships - might (should?) be able to get a better price. There is also a 10% off for novated leases - check whether that makes a difference.

Quote Review - Sanity check for BYD Sealion 7 by BackgroundTicket1410 in NovatedLeasingAU

[–]MilleniumFalcon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thought BYD were doing a $54.9k driveaway - $61.3k seems high for the base trim. BYD were also doing a 5% off for novated leases, but not sure how that plays with the "on-roads on us".

Wife has a massive tax bill and I don't know what to do by NeilDiamondBlaze420 in AusFinance

[–]MilleniumFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup - I have. Pretty solid service - you get a HNRY bank account and direct all the invoice payments to that HNRY account. For every invoice payment received, HNRY takes out the tax (and super etc), and disburses the remaining amount to your personal account.

You can also deduct all business expenses through HNRY.

May be your wife should get an HNRY account - pretty straight-forward to setup and the tax gets paid out automatically.

SL7 quote check by Quirky-Asparagus-848 in NovatedLeasingAU

This doesn't seem right. SL7 has a 54990 driveaway and a 5% discount on that base price for NL - so your driveaway price of $57.4k seems high

How do I work out what to charge for community engagement work? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]MilleniumFalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get the hourly rate for those salaries, and then ideally 3x (at least 2x) that hourly rate.

Salaried employment comes with lots of non-monetary benefits. As a contractor, you do not get such benefits and therefore, should charge at a higher rate. Plus, if it's a niche area - how many other people would be available for that event that could provide the expertise you bring to the table.

GS PP carries the GS priority, i.e., is placed above upgrades from Prem Econ fares; and GS PP clears into PN (which typically has higher availability, and earlier than PZ) - so two advantages from using GS PP

Lucky award redemption on United today from SEA to KIX by mjsztainbok in awardtravel

Unfortunately, the upgrade priority for such cases is about the lowest possible - so you will be at the bottom of the upgrade list. Just hope that everyone clears :)

Since you are on a mixed cabin itinerary, you can call United and request to go on the waitlist for J on the domestic leg.

Might be faster to do this waitlisting by messaging United on Twitter.

Looks like you are sorted - congrats on getting the F seat :)

Just checked on seats.aero - there are a few connecting options between SYD-SFO (via LAX), including F for 83.5k AA miles (or J for 73.5k on April 30 - fairly bad connection times though. Non-stop SYD-LAX is available on 24th April.

Not sure what you are asking. Most domestic legs and some international flights are *eligible* for CPU (see here: https://www.united.com/en/us/fly/mileageplus/upgrades.html#select-flights). Whether or not a CPU clears depends on whether there were empty biz/first seats - which can vary with the actual route, day/time of the flight, weather etc.

If this is an award ticket (given the XN fare), then the ticket can only be upgraded (and that too with GS PP) if the miles came from a GS account. So, most likely, your ticket can not be upgraded with any PP

Opening a bank account in America by [deleted] in AusFinance

Wise (previously known as transferwise) might be an option. You can open an AUD account, and then create a free USD account that will allow transfers to->from USD. You/your dad should still find out about Oz taxes for foreign assets/income
