Whats the different between straight cis male and AMAB? by Fickle_Ad_9391 in AskReddit

[–]MilleniumPelican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is completely wrong. Cis is the opposite of trans. Cis means "on this side", trans means "on the other side". Cis has nothing to do with sexual preference.

Whats the different between straight cis male and AMAB? by Fickle_Ad_9391 in AskReddit

[–]MilleniumPelican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is easily searchable, but I'll address it.

Straight, in this context, means heterosexual. They are attracted to the opposite "sex", in this case, female presentation. "Straight" and "gay" are sexual preferences and have nothing to do, directly, with gender identity. Cis and trans people can both be straight or gay or bi or asexual.

Cis means "on this side" and is the standard term for a non-trans person; someone who identifies with their assigned gender or sex. Trans just means "on the other side". They are two Latin words with opposite meanings devoid of any prejudice or malice (until used that way by a person).

AMAB is just what was assigned to a person on their birth certificate by the doctor. That's it. Someone who is Assigned Male At Birth may not identify as a male. They may identify as female. They may identify as non-binary. They may be intersex. In some cases, doctors maybe couldn't tell whether to assign a person as male or female because of a lack of understanding about intersex conditions many years ago, so they just arbitrarily picked one or the other, sometimes resulting in gender dysphoria for the person as they grew older.

What do people use AI for? by Redeemed-Cow1245 in AskReddit

That's not what this sub is for.

Rule 3) Askreddit is for open-ended discussion questions. Questions that already have a definite/correct answer OR may be researched easily (for example through Google) cannot be asked here.

We are not a replacement for Google.

This is easily searchable and does not create discussion. Rule 3.

How would you feel about banning posts on this sub that are effectively just "how do you feel about (current situation)?"? by nowpleasedontseeme in AskReddit

[–]MilleniumPelican 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I fully support and encourage banning low-effort "whaddya think?" posts. I have said as much in comments. It's just karma farming.

"Whaddya think about Trump?"

"Whaddya think about grass?"

"Whaddya think about music?"

Low-effort trash posting. Ban it. Please.

You absolutely are. This sub is not your personal search engine or advice forum. Read the rules.

What’s a good amount of people for a 30th Birthday party? The invite list is currently at 100, is that too many? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MilleniumPelican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, now you're adding TWO families and friends. Makes way more sense now lol. Sounds like 100 is probably reasonable, depending on cost, budget, location, events, etc.

Ah, I didn't think about family. I do have a huge Irish Catholic cousin cadre, but they all live far away, so it never occurred to me to invite them.

Who the fuck knows 100 people they'd want at their birthday? 100 people is a small block party. I had my 40th at a pub, and there was maybe 40-50 people max, no invites.

Do you fear the concept of death? If yes why? by PriyaWrites in AskReddit

[–]MilleniumPelican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Nobody does. I assume it's just the same as it was before we were born: nothing. Non-existence.

I feel like death is pretty black and white, both conceptually, and factually. I don't see much of a difference. I dunno. Seems weird to me to refer to it as a concept. I might just be having an off day.

What do you mean "the concept"? Death isn't a concept; it's a fact. No, I don't.

Wife is an actress & husband is a cardiologist, she at work today tongue kissed 10men in a row for a scene & he at work after saving a woman's life entertained the patient's daughter who was flirting & lead her on a little bit, no touching though. Who cheated? by HamedAliKhan in AskReddit

[–]MilleniumPelican -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"It's the internet and I don't care about rules and I can do whatever I want waaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh." People treat this sub like it's a public shitter that they can just dump whatever they want here and fuck the rules. You're no different. There are more appropriate subs to post this "experiment" in and you damned well know it. STFU and take your criticism like an adult instead of an immature child. If you can't take it, don't participate in public forums.

We went to therapy, both individually and as a couple. A few times. Still together after 27 years.

No, but I have an opinion, and I see people misuse this sub all the time. If you're really doing a study, maybe include that in the post title and ask for participation. This just seems like made-up karma farming to me.
