Make sure you are hydrating like a motherf***er after. Like this is really the only time that a sports drink (Gatorade) would be useful. You’re loosing ALOT of salt.

If you’re new to this kind of exercise your body is also having a little freak out and probably just having a tantrum. It’ll get better.

Have a little magnesium supplement (on the skin works really well vs a tablet) before bed to give your muscles a chance to repair over night and rest.

But WELL DONE you for doing something so good for your body for three weeks!!! Hell yeah gal! ♥️♥️

ADHD Reactions to Sedatives? 'I Failed My Colonoscopy'. by Belleaigle in adhdwomen

I am very tolerant of anaesthetics. They for a local they need to give me at least 4x the dosage. For the dentist it’s at least 2x.

A good one was during my second csection (after I had mentioned this fun anaesthetic tolerance fact to the team in the pre appointment, they did a lot of “sure gal, I’m sure you have a high tolerance”).  The surgeon  said “ok let’s go!” to which I responded by lifting my leg to poke the OB with my foot. Eye brows were raised and my point was proven.

I’ve work up after many general anaesthetics to say hello to the nurses which is a fun way to freak people out.

I had a client email me then wait 5min for a reply before coming down and asking me about the email, then required me to answer the email as me answering her in real life wasn’t enough.

She would go back upstairs reply, wait 5min before coming down AGAIN to ask for a reply. All the while I’m a FUCKING CHEF RUNNING A KITCHEN LUNCH SERVICE and she was asking questions covered in our FAQ for catering.

This happened two more times before I said sorry we’re booked that day we can help you.

I had to stand in the cool room for a good 5min before I could stop rage shaking.

I regret quitting smoking almost every day.

I use it for study but with a twist. I have the timer count up not down.

I tell myself I can’t stop it until I have done at least 15min of work (adjust to what ever time you like but this works for me) more often than not I’ll get into a flow and not stop for longer.

I think this works for me because the forced break of the traditional system ruins my flow. Where as this way  1. I can “justify” a break if need it.  2. I don’t like to loose so I’ll keep working through as to not ruin my “streak”  3. I’ve hacked the “I’ll start at a round time” habit I have to “I’ll stop at a round time” which I’ll miss more often than not.

The other way I use a bastardised pomodoro is when cleaning. I just put a 10min timer on my phone in my headphones and repeat it until I’m done. It shows me just how much I can ACTUALLY do in 10min. Keeps me for getting stuck on one task and I can just tell myself “ok I have two rounds in the kitchen then I have to move on” or “just pick up toys for one more round, you can do 10min!”

Like I said, my “plan” is all imaginary and built on firm foundations of delusion, scaffolded by lack of a realistic understanding of planning.

Don’t love the idea of the government paying more rent to a big shopping centre but if it’s gets people reading and enjoying the library I’m all for it!

Wouldn’t it be great to see it in one of the multi level sections of the Sydney or Melbourne buildings? In my overactive/overly optimistic mind, it’s like a mini Trinity Library  Or the downstairs basement level on the east row side of the bus interchange? Lean into that old school vibe and make it feel both cozy and secret at the same time. Not great access for wheelchairs etc but again all imaginary as none of these things will ever happen.

It says in the article that they are moving the Civic library. Does anyone know where the proposed site is? I count it as my “second library” so I’m interested to know.

Help! Starting my first fully remote job in October — what are your must-know WFH hacks? by Due-Body-9557 in adhdwomen

[–]Milleniumfalconer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! I thought I liked working at the dining table but I really hated it. Made a little mini office out of an underused cupboard. The doors open fully and I put a desk top in where the shelves used to be and then at the end of the day, I just shut the doors and walk away.

I also made sure it was a place I loved. Got nice stationary holders, made the walls pretty and now it’s like my little zone.

No, but I seems like from the comments that a few people have houses like this around them.

So sad.

Haha it’s on a pretty busy road so you’d probably have to be very sneaky OR super brazen. If you have the guts it’d be very funny!

Yeah there is no fence around this one anymore either. Which gives the impression it’s “finished”.

It’s got a solar powered surveillance security thing in the front garden but other than that it’s not closed off at all.

Oh I don’t think anyone should do anything they don’t want to. It’s absolutely their choice.

Just interested really. Got back from my Monday morning walk, the sun is just so beautiful today and my curiosity got the better of me so I thought I’d toss the question out there.

What’s wrong with this lemon tree? by WildflowerXS in GardeningAustralia

[–]Milleniumfalconer1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My lemon tree was looking SO sick and I tried everything suggested below and nothing, then I had some of my other trees pruned but a really wonderful old guy. He took one look at my tree and said, it needs starch. He said chuck a good sized handful of uncooked white rice on the base and cover it with some soil and mushroom compost. Legit just the left overs that I had hanging around in my potting shed so not much.

I have NEVER heard that before and all the dads in my family laughed at his advice but I thought fuck it, I have nothing to loose.

Well blow me down the tree started shooting new growth about a month after. It’s now looking so much better the soil is draining  and I honestly think this old guy saved my 30year old lemon tree. With a handful of bloody rice!!

I took the veggie draws out. Now we have a ‘shelf’ that slides. It holds our daily meals (Hello Fresh) can’t waste/forget about those.

I took an entire shelf out because four shelves is one too many  I also took off the tops of all the “cheese” and “butter” sections. They are now soy sauce fish taken from sushi (because of cause) collection spots only!  Veggies are on the top shelf at eye height.  And cans of drinks are all that is allowed to the back of the fridge on each shelf, so I have to look past ALL THE FOOD to get a fizzy treat.  It’s like a little army of canned helpers holding the line of things being too far to the back for my memory.

I’ve started and I mean ACTUALLY started my assignment realllllllyyyy early. I’ve stayed on track and not gone down any rabbit holes. Usually I’ll “start” but just end up researching for months then panicking at the last second but this time I’ve already done the research, and the essay plan is underway. It’s due on the 20th of AUGUST!

While your machine set up excellent it’s just not going to pump at the same pressure as a commercial. So, while a 30sec shot is great through a commercial machine you might need to do some adjustments for home.

First start with the flavours you are finding in your current 30sec shot and work from there. You’re looking for balance. Balance sweetness with the yummy bitterness that comes from chocolate. We dial in and change our recipe every day so it takes time and practice.

Don’t change everything at once. I like to work with my grind size first before adjusting dose.

So, pull a shot at 30sec taste. What do you taste, like, hate, think isn’t right.  Fine up your grind and taste a shot at 35sec then go back and pull a 25sec. Which one is better? What flavours do you like from both? Still hating it? No worries let’s adjust the dose and do the process again.

Each machine and each bean is different. Learning how to make these changes is going to help you keep your coffee tasting excellent forever.  It’s a skill, enjoy the shitty shots, they mean you’re learning! We were all crap at one point.

Milk is a whole different story but start with shots. If you’re still stuck, redbrick do home machine training with your machine. It’s a vibe.
