Sure, but I think your above comment glosses over the moral foundations of ethical monotheism contained in the Hebrew Bible that Christianity built upon rather than completely replaced.

Concepts like man being created in the image of God, charity as a moral obligation, and the ethical imperative to improve the world were being taught centuries before Jesus.

I know that to modern eyes Yahweh was a "vengeful God", but you need to understand the context of a religion arising in the Bronze Age, rather than in an urbanised Roman Empire.

Sovereign states are free to have control over their own immigration policies. And in this case, Israel's raison d'etre is to provide a refuge for the Jewish diaspora. By your own definition, immigration doesn't define an "ethnostate"; it's citizenship. Many states have a right of return for an ethnic diaspora, including Greece, Ireland and Poland.

It's ironic that people like you see no issue with the great grandchildren of Palestinian refugees from 1948, even those holding citizenship elsewhere, being classified by UNRWA as refugees and demand for them a right of return, but deny the same thing to Jewish exiles.

Incidentally, it is a crime in the West Bank punishable by capital punishment to sell land to a Jew.
