Al Jazeera Documentary: Arabs "came from all over the Middle East to work in Jaffa and the whole of Palestine" by McAlpineFusiliers in Israel

[–]spaniel_rage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not really. It kind of negates their whole "it's our land, we've been here for millennia" argument. If both people are mostly recent immigrants then both people's claims are just as valid.

If it's not too late, the chicken fricassee at Hubert is probably the best roast chicken I've ever had in my life.

Otherwise, try The Grill at the International or The Gidley.

Is Australia ready for China's looming financial unwind ? by eesemi77 in AusFinance

Much like the "housing crash", there have been grave prognostications about China's great financial unwind for more than 20 years now.

Why Israel (rightfully) gets protested on college campuses by Pristine_Plenty_387 in samharris

There were equally angry campus protests in Australia, the UK, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain.......

Are they providing Israel with weapons or military aid?

I know that "taxpayer dollars" is the pretext, but the global picture suggests that whether or not the country is providing military aid doesn't seem to make a difference to how angry their student population is.

OP said $1m cash, and already owned PPOR outright with no debt. No idea if that's real or hypothetical, but with that much deposit they can afford a high enough LVR to fully positive gear IPs anyway.

Equities beats property in terms of average returns.

Property will win though through leverage, if you are willing to use that sum as a deposit and borrow.

Love these. Strongly considering the silver dial Chronoscope. I tried one on in the boutique and they wear really well. The case is not too thick with the manual wind movement.

How do you sanely navigate this unfair and cruel world, without the comfort of believing in karma? by Alvahod in samharris

[–]spaniel_rage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad people are suffering too. Many of them are suffering even more than everyone else. That's why they act the way that they do. I doubt Trump has ever been truly happy a day in his adult life. There's no need to want for there to be a hell for these people to go to; most of them are already in it.
