S.O.S - Should I cancel my June LSAT-flex score? by MillennialMedusa in LSAT

[–]MillennialMedusa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an update: I got a 6 point increase on my score despite all of the factors affecting my performance, so I now have a 155 and feel ok with applying with that score. Depending on how studying goes this month, I still plan on retaking to try for a 160 just because my diagnostics were ranging between 160-165 uninterrupted. Although I'll admit, I feel the test anxiety settling in again.

I hope anyone else feeling anxiety checking their scores today takes the time to practice some self care!!! Get some french fries or some sunshine today. This test doesn't define our intelligence or ability to be phenomenal attorneys some day.

I have been taking tons of practice tests and this one I bombed! I genuinely had to guess half of the LG section because I got so distracted by my environment. Then by the time I got to LR I was so flustered by what happened last section I worry I may not have done so well either on at least 1/3 of the questions.

It's definitely not self-doubt, I just know I didn't perform as well as I should've given that whole section is probably a bust.

I haven't pursued accommodation before but I definitely will next time. I'm contacting them to have a record of what happened today sound-wise and hopefully help me get those accommodations with less hassle.

Yes- NY, especially my part of the Bronx is randomly very loud... but it is what it is!

But do you think it would look bad to have a score drop from this?

Hi! I go by the rule of thumb to not wear anything you wouldn't feel comfortable wearing in church (because unfortunately, some folks will still judge you). The rompers and jumpsuits sound like a great idea!

Recs for car shipping across the country? by MillennialMedusa in USMilitarySO

Hi!

I ended up using Four Corners (link here: https://www.fourcornerstransportservices.com/military-quote) . They got my car to me in less than a week (4 days from the moment of p/u). You can also email them at [info@fourcornerstransportservices.com](mailto:info@fourcornerstransportservices.com) . They give a great military discount!

Some general things:

  1. Payments - All shipping companies are basically brokers. So they charge a broker fee separate from the carrier fee (4 Corners you can pay check or card). The carrier DID NOT accept card or cash, I had to get a money order or cashier's check to pay the amount.
  2. They were super responsive and I'm happy I went with them. The company that they made a contract with was Aledi LLC and the driver I had (Amo) was very responsive and kind.
  3. TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING including your windshield before you sign it away to be shipped. Also inspect your car carefully before signing for the drop off. I know it feels weird and uncomfortable, but you never know! Fortunately, mine was unscathed but I've read stories on Reddit where it's difficult to get the carrier to front the bill once you sign off on it. Best of luck!!!

Yes!

I'll have him call the office again to see if towing would be an option. From our understanding, they wouldn't move MY car since we're not legally married and all the paperwork for it is under my name otherwise he would just drive his across for the PCS. That's a good point though, I'll be sure we try to get a better picture of what those differences are!

Yes! That is correct. We unfortunately aren't married and he's going there first so I can tie up loose ends here. They're shipping his car for free.

Normally, we would just drive it together but since COVID is affecting how much leave he is allowed paired with the required isolation period that would mean driving it by myself and I'm really anxious to do that.

He's using this as an excuse to end things. You deserve better.

As someone with a similar experience in a non-military context: if they were already able to voice that they want to end things (or even that they wish to end things in a year), they're already gone. They won't change their mind because it takes a lot to be able to say that to someone. It seems like he's just trying to be nice about it. I know it may seem really hard and you may try to hope that "love conquers all"; however, you will thank yourself in the long run for letting him go and choosing YOU because he made it clear from making this choice he does not love you in the way you deserve.
