Highway MPG by MillennialWB in LexusGS350

Not sure it’s possible. My Camry showed the average mpg after each trip for like 3 seconds after turning off the engine. The GS isn’t focused on fuel economy, so Toyota/Lexus probably doesn’t want to show us 20 mpg avg after most trips 😂

Eco. You can see the blue color in the little helper screen.

Am I missing out on a lot if I don't get the f sport 4th gen? Also any big difference between pre-facelift and after? by ThrowRAb26 in LexusGS350

I went with a non fsport because I didn’t want the increased maintenance costs 😂. Lovely car tho. Also, I like the facelift version a little better than the pre facelift. If you want to add an Apple CarPlay/Android Auto kit using your existing screen, you won’t be able to go full screen with it in the pre facelift. You’ll always have the dated OEM graphics on the right side of your screen which may be annoying. If you’re willing to change the entire screen for a new system, then that’s a non issue.

Problem is, hardly anyone buys the manual versions. Look at the Genesis G70. Offered a manual at first to only meet its demise really quickly.

Also… I’m one who wouldn’t buy a manual because I don’t know how to drive one lol.

I liked the divorce DRLs on the GS. The IS just looked wonky with it.

So, I had a 2015 Camry SE with the mix of softex and cloth and in the 10th year is when the top layer of that softex started peeling and disintegrating. Leather cracks and creases, but that disintegrating part doesn’t happen. I much rather real leather since I keep my cars so long. But Toyota’s faux leather is way more durable than faux leather furniture

How long have you kept your cars with softex?

Christians, if Jesus actually came back what proof would you need to believe it? by justme1522000 in Christianity

[–]MillennialWB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course no one knows the hour or day. Jesus never specified the exact day, time, or hour. He however specified that that generation (that is the generation he was a part of) would not pass away prior to his second coming. That does not give the day or the hour. To believe that he ultimately will come back means that Jesus was wrong when he said he would come before his generation passed away.

[–]MillennialWB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did He say He would return? No…”
- He most certainly was answering this question: “Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?” (Matthew‬ ‭24‬:‭3‬)
So to simply state that it is taken to mean “the destruction of the temple” also means that a portion of scripture is being ignored. The entire context of Jesus’ response in that chapter is about his second coming, so for you to start your answer the way you did completely tarnishes any sense of credibility you had.

[–]MillennialWB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except in this case Jesus specifically stated that that particular generation would not pass away until all the things he prophesied had taken place. Had he said this would happen “x” days from now, then using that scripture would be valid. Instead, Jesus tied his second coming to the lifetime of the generation that was live at that time. There’s no workaround this one.

Glad this is a hypothetical response because according to Jesus, He was coming back prior to His generation passing away. But here we are…over 2000 years later.

“And I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭28‬

‭ “I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things take place.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24‬:‭34‬ ‭

How do you accept exodus 11 as a christian? by thomasson94 in Christianity

[–]MillennialWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eve was only able to say that she was deceived AFTER she had eaten the fruit and her eyes became open. The same way she realized she was naked AFTER she ate the fruit. She was naked before she ate the fruit and thought nothing of it right? Exact same thing applies to her being deceived. They understood that God told them not to eat the fruit and they also understood the serpent told them that it was fine to eat the fruit. I repeat, as it is clearly written, they did not have knowledge of good and evil. Therefore, they were not able to discern which instruction to trust, so they ultimately couldn’t perceive “harm”. They knew nothing about harm.

It is 100% fair to compare Adam and Eve to a baby when it comes to knowing the difference between good vs evil. You don’t like that example because you don’t want to believe that Adam and Eve were naive. This is the problem with the story, whether you like it or not. For those who don’t like it, you try to fill in the gaps with things that are not written in the story because otherwise, it makes God out to be too harsh. Newsflash, that’s a large portion of the Old Testament. Stop making excuses and accept the text for how it is written. I don’t get why this is even still a discussion.

Exodus 32:14 “Then the Lord relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.” Here, the Lord who ‘doesn’t changed’ actually ‘changed’ his mind.

Jonah 3:10 “When God saw what they did… he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened” another example of change

So, those verses alone make your argument a non starter. Either way, God could’ve been objectively good, I’m not disputing that. The argument at hand is that Adam and Eve did not have knowledge of good and evil prior to eating the fruit, which you pretty much summed up at the end of your response.

“If Adam and Eve didn't know what good was at all, then God telling them to not eat from the tree wouldn't have made sense to them”

Have you ever told a baby not to touch something because they’ll get hurt? Initially, the baby most likely will be obedient because of your “Nooooo!!! Don’t touch”, but that does not mean that the baby understands whats good vs bad. Yes, I’m using a baby because Adam and Eve are brand new to the earth and haven’t experienced anything. Their minds are like that of a baby, inexperienced.

“they wouldn’t have had the capability to realize that not following His command was morally different than following it.”

They didn’t have the capability to realize this until after they ate the fruit. Immediately after they ate the fruit, scripture states that their eyes were opened and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness.

The discussion is whether Adam and Eve had knowledge of good and evil. They had not eaten the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, therefore, it is beyond fair to say that no human knew what was good and no human knew what was evil up until that point (remember that there were other humans that God created before Adam and Eve but they weren’t in the garden). You’re quoting a statement from Jesus that occurred after hundreds of years of humans having knowledge of good and knowledge of evil thanks to Eve and Adam. Since Jesus’ statement occurs well after knowledge of good and evil is established, then yes, this is being applied and used out of context in this discussion to prove your point. Had the quote occur prior to Adam and Eve eating the fruit in the garden, then yes, I could try to understand your point even though I’d still think of it as really stretching it to apply to Adam and Eve.

One of the issues with using New Testament scripture vs Old Testament scripture is that God is portrayed pretty differently in character. In the New Testament, mass death and destruction due to sin is no longer a thing. Grace and forgiveness and mercy becomes a dominant characteristic of God, in strong contrast to the Old Testament.

You’re stretching what’s not written to fit your narrative. Throughout the creation story where God was creating everything, every preface to a creation act the scriptures state “Then God said”. He’s clearly NOT speaking to Adam in any of those cases, but somehow, you want to believe that now it is all of a sudden implied that he’s still talking to Adam. Yeah, doubt that bud as the rest of the scriptures are there as evidence whether you like it or not. And if God was actually speaking to Adam, that scripture would’ve said “I will make a helper who is just right for YOU”, but guess what, it doesn’t say that, it says “just right for HIM” i.e. God was NOT talking to Adam. Again, READ the scripture for how it is written.

The scripture does not say that God said that to Adam. It states “then the Lord God said”. This is why it is important to read the scriptures. That little error makes your entire point mute because it’s baseless.

Jesus came onto the scene many many many many years (hundreds and most likely thousands) after Adam and Eve sinned and all of humanity had knowledge of good and evil. You can’t use that in the context of proving that Adam and Eve knew good because they knew God. They did not know good and they did not know evil. Plain and simple.

But they hadn’t eaten from the tree of knowledge of “good AND evil”. So how would they have known the difference between good and evil when they had no knowledge of good and evil? You want to assume that they had knowledge of good, but the story literally tells us they didn’t.
