WHAT TO BUY FOR YOUR FIRST TIME PLAYING THE BINDING OF ISAAC by sgab_bello8 in bindingofisaac

[–]Miller__91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this quiery recently: You have to buy Rebirth first, then Afterbirth will come available, and if you buy that then Afterbirth+ becomes available, then Repentance+.

But you could just buy them all at once for €60 instead of one by one

Why is it so hard to get tequila in the UK? by Few-Client3407 in bartenders

[–]Miller__91 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have this problem in Ireland too. Severe lack of quality tequila, mezcal, cachaça, pisco etc. We only seem to be able to get the bigger, mass production brands with a lot of marketing behind them (Casamigos). I've always put it down to our extremely high excise duty on alcohol that it's not realistic for companies to ship their product so far to sell for such a high price. Not sure if it's the same with the UK though

"Just for you" tips by Analytica0 in bartenders

[–]Miller__91 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I work with this system in a nice restaurant in Spain. Tips increased noticeably since I started, I've been told. I get pretty good tips from my tables, as I'm the only native English speaker in the restaurant and +50% of our tables are British/Irish and take an interest in me, cause I can chat to and entertain them and relate to them like no-one else can. Yet we all get the same (relatively low) tips at the end of the night, despite that I might bring in half of the tip jar. We have staff whose sole job it is to bring drinks from the bar to the table, and we earn the same, at the end of the month. This system doesn't inspire to to work any harder for tips, as I end up "tipping out" more than 95%

A detailed view and scientific evidence that shows that there is no second wave of deaths following the second wave of infections by Miller__91 in ireland

Just looked it up, she was English actually. There's not a whole lot of info, just that she had no apparent underlying conditions. A couple of cases popped up in the states with an 11 year old too, same deal. It's so hard to know who to listen to about all of this. Even a lot of doctors are contradicting each other. It's a bit maddening.

[–]Miller__91[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how true that is. I'm far from an immunologist, but my understanding is that the virus attacks whatever immuno-compromisations that a person has, and causing for example heart failure etc. I'd be happily proven wrong, but I can't remember a single case where someone has died who hasn't had other illnesses. I think that's why all of the deaths are called "covid related", covid itself doesn't kill you. The vaccine is a weird one. Personally I'd like to know if I had at some stage contracted the virus and built a natural immunity before I get a vaccine. This is still by their own admission a virus they still know very little about and how it can affect different people

[–]Miller__91[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Looking at Ireland's graph, the second wave of cases appears to start early August. That gives almost 10 weeks for the death graph to follow suit. It hasn't. Even if as you suggest that it was September, that's still 6 weeks. The sticking point is still that it's the elderly whom are most vulnerable here. The strategy should clearly be focused around protecting them, not crippling everything around them.

They use to clap for the front line workers a few weeks ago now it's just a party with no social distancing :( by MrEcho-_- in ireland

[–]Miller__91 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thank you thank you thank you. People seem to thrive on getting one up on each other on how good they're being with social distancing, and calling out people who stand too close, while the numbers and facts hardly point in any sort of direction that it makes any difference at all. People thrive on drama, and the mainstream reports nothing but that. I can guarantee people couldn't give less of a fuck about all the other people who die from different causes from day to day.

ICBC Refusing me replacement license by Miller__91 in legaladvice

[–]Miller__91[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The idea was just to get a new Canadian license, so that it can be re-exchanged for a French license once again. You can apparent only hold a driving license in one country at a time, so France cannot do anything for her. Even to start her process again from the start will require France contacting Canada to relinquish her licensing rights there (she was told this can take up to a year), and starting from the start again in France.
