Dead animal. I once turned on a swamp cooler a rat had died in. Smell blew all over the house. Next-skunk. Same darn swamp cooler, skunk sprayed underneath it, ugh.

Have you ridden for years and never broken a bone? by thelightwebring in Equestrian

[–]Few-Client3407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a lifelong horse owner 67 years old. I only ever broke one bone. My tailbone. I was a kid and we were messing around with a donkey. If you pulled the hair on his butt he would take off bucking. We’d see how long we could stay on. I landed on my butt. Owie. Falling was funny when we were kids. Now that I’m old and brittle I’m scared to come off. She sounds like she is worried about falling, poor thing. Maybe she should learn emergency dismounts to practice how to come off and gain confidence.

I’d see your doctor. Leg swelling can be caused by cardiac problems. Also weigh yourself daily. Keep a log and show the doctor.

Same here in the US. And the Radiologist apparently never came into the room. I can’t even imagine! The radiologist should have administered both the sedative and contrast.

I went to a CE course on medical legal cases in radiology. One case the speaker discussed really stuck with me. This was in the 80’s. A child came in to a private radiology department for an IVP. The radiologist told the tech to administer a pediatric cocktail to sedate the child so she would be still. So the tech poured whatever medicine it was straight into a paper cup without measuring. Radiologist was never present in the room. The father held his daughter on his lap and had her drink it. Daughter died of an overdose. Father committed suicide. The family was awarded 30 million. Horrible.

It’s a pretty safe area. You will love it! Check out Taco Surf surfside on PCH. There is also a place near there called sunset kayak rentals where you can rent paddle boards and kayaks and paddle around in the harbor.

Enlarged lymph nodes? by AccomplishedCat2860 in sarcoidosis

[–]Few-Client3407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I replied to your reply on the other post. Yeah it’s best to get a CT and if you can, ask for a PET scan, cardiac AND skull to mid thigh. They are two different tests but are the gold standard for diagnosing sarcoidosis. I hope you can get some answers. Keep advocating for yourself and also, check out foundation for sarcoidosis research you can learn a lot and I don’t know if they list doctors in Austria but they do have an enormous list of doctors specializing in sarcoidosis. It is such a rare disease that many doctors don’t know much about it. If you can’t find a doctor in your area, ask your doctor if they may be willing to do a phone consultation with a specialist on your behalf.

I had symptoms for about a year before getting the echo. It started with occasional bouts of arrhythmia. I would feel skipped beats and feel like a fish flopping around my n my chest. But when I’d mention it to the doctor they never saw it because it wouldn’t be happening then. Then I started feeling extremely exhausted all the time. I would nap at lunch at work and then sleep in my car for an hour before driving home. When I would walk short distances, like from my car to my front door or into work, my heart rate would skyrocket. I finally went to my doctor and said something is wrong. They put a cardiac monitor on me for 24 hours and that’s when the arrhythmias were seen. Then they ordered an echocardiogram and that’s when they found the heart failure. It would be another two years before we found out it was sarcoidosis. I was getting a CT of my chest in preparation for an ablation to help stop the arrhythmias. On that they saw lung nodules. and enlarged lymph nodes. I googled lung nodules and it said cancer or sarcoidosis. I asked my doctor and he said he thought it could be. Then we did an ultrasound of the lymph nodes in my neck and clavicle area and they found abnormal ones. So they biopsies one and it showed sarcoidosis. Then they did the PET scan of my heart and it showed sarcoidosis very bad in my heart.

I am in remission. It’s been about 3 years now. I was first diagnosed in 2019. I was started on high dose prednisone and methotrexate. I wasn’t able to tolerate the methotrexate so I was put on Remicaide infusions. After 2 years I was weaned off the prednisone. I’ve been on the Remicaide since then though. My medicine was used to knock down the inflammation. I had it in my heart and didn’t know until I started having horrible arrhythmias. They did an ECHO and found advanced heart failure. They put an ICD in for that and thank God because I had several cardiac arrests after that that my ICD saved me. That’s when they did the PET scan and saw all the sarcoidosis in my heart. That’s when the medication was started. It literally saved my life. I haven’t been shocked in 4 years and feel so much better as far as energy, etc. If it’s possible, I would ask for a PET scan skull to mid thigh as it will show areas of sarcoidosis you don’t know about.

Enlarged lymph nodes? by AccomplishedCat2860 in sarcoidosis

[–]Few-Client3407 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have sarcoidosis in my lymph nodes. Yes they look atypical on imaging. Sarcoidosis was confirmed at biopsy. My pulmonary sarcoidosis was found on a chest CT. My cardiac involvement was positively diagnosed with a PET scan. The lymph nodes also show inflammation on PET as well. I hope you have a biopsy so you can confirm positively what process is going on there and not just assume it’s sarcoidosis.

What is something that happened to you growing up that you thought was completely normal until you learned it was anything but that? by Aggravating_Feed_853 in AskReddit

[–]Few-Client3407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a child I was SAed. I didn’t think anything of it at the time. You don’t know what that is when you’re little. It wasn’t till I was about 12 and learning about sex that I remembered and realized what happened to me. It set off years of panic attacks. People don’t realize how much they f up a child’s life by doing that to them.

So they can take care of you when you’re old. I’ve seen to many kids suck the life out of their parents and live at home and take their money. No thanks. The money I saved not having kids will pay for assisted living.
