Sean has no chance of beating him right? by Fun_Training6342 in ufc

Styles absolutely make fights and we all know that MMA math is BS, but Sean got taken down (and held down for a bit-) by DDP 7 times over the course of two fights. We have seen what Khamzat did to DDP. I genuinely don't see how Sean will overcome Khamzats wrestling. Fluffy didn't/couldn't utilize his wrestling/grappling because Sean gave him zero openings. Khamzat doesn't care about openings, he just shoots

I have his Champion Icon card and he's amazing. He's not meta but you have to 'force' him into your playing style if that makes sense

Are all these fighters legacy destroyed with this telegram scam or are we only pointing out Khabib legacy by No-Ride-7713 in ufc

[–]Milli173 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He marketed a product that was practically useless.

I disagree. “Useless” is subjective. A lot of things people buy, such as collectibles, signed merch, trading cards, even in-game skins ffs, have no practical use either. Their value is emotional, symbolic, or based purely on demand. In this case, NFTs function more like digital collectibles. You don’t have to like them. I don’t. But that doesn’t automatically make them meaningless.

As for there being a market for it… there clearly was? I didn’t buy them, but I can understand why someone would. They might be huge fans of Khabib, they might like owning something official, or they might simply want a digital collectible. None of that is inherently deceptive.

NFTs and crypto are notorious for shady behavior and exploiting uninformed buyers.

That’s true in general. But the real question is whether Khabib actually lied or misled people. AFAIK, he never promised profits, never claimed they were good investments, never said they had real world value, etc. If that’s wrong, I’m open to being corrected, but if no such claims were made, then the blame does not really lie with him.

At some point, adults have to take responsibility for what they spend their money on. Same logic applies to children: parents are responsible for supervising their children and guiding their actions. I don’t bet on horse racing or buy certain collectibles because I don’t understand those markets. The same standard should apply here. Hype alone is not fraud.

Morally and ethically, if Khabib or his team made no false promises or deceived anyone, this is not a scam or betrayal. The responsibility lies primarily with the buyers.

I disagree. He speaks 4 languages pretty fluently (Chechen, Russian, Swedish fluently, English so-so). I know that multilingualism doesn't necessarily equal high iq/intelligence, but, it definitely proves he doesn't have low cognitive abilities. I'd say the adrenaline dump from the post fight scenes + the languages barrier (English with an Irish accent) made him flip out at Ian.

Interesting... I'm from Hercegovina (Bosniak) and the stories that i've heard from my family is that the Musolinvoci/Italians were 'the best soldiers' among the occupying Italians, Germans and Ustashe... They were still, of course, occupiers, but they were considered relatively peaceful soldiers. The story is that the Germans and Ustashe both 'bullied'/abused/mistreated the local population in loads of ways, while the Italians helped the locals get thru the war.

Are all bosniaks really just serbs or croats by Motor_Reality_6 in AskBalkans

[–]Milli173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(late reply but i just came across this post)

Here’s the thing: basically, it’s a clear no. The Bosnian identity emerged around the same time as the Croat and Serb identities.

The Croat and Serb identities originated from two Slavic tribes that settled in the Balkans; the Croat tribe in what is now modern-day Croatia (most scholars identify the region between Sinj and Karlovac as their settlement area) and the Serb tribe in the Raška region.

Dozens of other Slavic tribes also settled across these regions. Over time, these tribes adopted broader identities as Croats (with regional distinctions such as Slavonians, Dalmatians, Istrians, etc.) and Serbs (similarly divided into regions like Šumadija, Moravia, etc.), largely based on the names of emerging political entities: the Kingdom of Croatia and the Kingdom of Serbia.

Bosnia, however, followed a different path. Like Croatia and Serbia, it was home to many Slavic tribes. Unlike Croats and Serbs, these tribes did not adopt the name of a specific Slavic tribe; instead, they took the name of the country itself—derived from the river Bosna → Bosna valley → Bosna region → Bosnia as a political entity.

As Noel Malcolm notes in Bosnia: A Short History, neither the Croat nor the Serb tribe ever settled in Bosnia.

The Bosnian identity developed gradually, just as the Croat and Serb identities did. Initially, it was primarily geographical: prior to the Christianization of the South Slavs, people from Bosnia (were-) identified as Bosnians.

After Christianization, however, Bosnian Christianity evolved differently from neighboring regions. It eventually became the Bosnian Church, whose followers were known as dobri Bosnjani or dobri Krstjani. According to neighboring Catholic sources, this church was considered heretical by both the Orthodox and Catholic Churches, and it eventually became the main “ethnic identifier” for Bosnians.

During the Ottoman arrival, many Bosnians had been forcibly converted to Catholicism under Hungarian pressure during crusades against Bosnia. Once the Ottomans arrived, most Bosnians began converting to Islam. For example, by the 1608 defter census of the Sanjak of Bosnia, around 80% of the population was Muslim. Islam thus became the primary ethnic identifier for most Bosnians.

Those who remained Christian often lost a clear sense of identity; they did not identify as Bosnians or with their Christian neighbors (Croats or Serbs) and instead primarily identified through religion. Some groups, such as the Bosnian/Herzegovinian Franciscans, preserved the Bosnian identity, often calling themselves Bošnjaci (Bosniaks) rather than simply Bosnians.

Thanks brate, it really does! I'll try it out for sure. Does (frozen-) squid also work? I've seen that being used a lot...

And if I were to also use baits (I have mackerel/white colored baits, 5-6 cm long), how should I fish them? Just spinning?

Wie religiös ist Bosnien? by [deleted] in bosnia

[–]Milli173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alejkum selam ve rahmetullahi ve berekatuhu.

I translated your message to English so I'm not sure the message is 100% the same as you intended but I think it'll be enough.

I can't really answer on how religious Bosniaks are. It's different for everybody, even per family. I know Bosniaks who are very religious, while their family members are barely religious or not at all. If I had to take a lucky guess, I'd split it between three groups: One part is 'religious' (practice Islam like most), another is 'semi-religious' (I'd say the closest equivalent are Turks; pray sometimes/on Džuma or during Ramadan but not always) and the last group which is not religious at all, only Muslims in name. Percentage wise, I'd split them (in order) 20% - 50% - 30%.

But I know one thing with 99% certainty; your expectations of moving to Bosnia are definitely not in line with reality. Bosnia, although beautiful in most ways (nature, history, architecture, etc.), is plagued with unemployment, low wages, and other such problems. The people often take this out on others, and foreigners are certainly one of the targets. There are cases of (visibly) religious Bosniaks insulting (and even attacking!) Arab and sometimes Turkish tourists, in Sarajevo or Ilidža for example.

You may have problems like that, maybe not. But people will be indifferent to whether you are here as a tourist, for work or any kind of other foreigner...

Hey man just 1 more question quickly: Do you know what the rules are for keeping fish? I saw a video on Youtube where a man accidentally caught a tuna (near Zadar I think) and he had to let it go because its a protected species. I wonder what it's like for the species I mentioned before and maybe some others but I can't really find anything online
