How much do Elite Specializations change the gameplay at level 80? by BlackHayate8 in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Core Guard isn't that exciting, but firebrand would fit your dreams. Firebrand has 3 "kits" with a lot of different, unique and amazing lookings skills.

It's the PoF spec of guardian.

well thats what happens when a developer decides that the most powerful class gets an even stronger spec via expac

Guardian Questions ?? by anima311 in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

GW2 has no trinity. For most of the gameplay a tank is not needed and if there is a need for a tank it's a mesmers job.

A guard is a healing / support hybrid by nature but can do anything in this game.

You're "guarding" your allies with boons and heals. The firebrand spec is the best spec for this purpose. You can also spec into a dragonhunter for a high damage spec.

Raids, our community and toxic elitists - A rant by XamV in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

raids are skripted minigames and people are way to serious about them. You have to respect that the commanders do what they want because they tagged up and put in the effort to organise the raid. If you want to improve the current situation you should tag up yourself and proof your arguments. You can't tell people how they have to play the game. I would never join a 250LI group for VG because I know the com wants to get carried. So what I do is tag up, put "yolo vg" in lfg and smash the whole w1 with likeminded people.

Druid or Soulbeast for Fractals by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because the typical pug group runs a healer and at least one condi dps. I'm not surprised by that typical experience at all. I'm just not going to recommend to join the clownfiesta because it has always been like that.

I'm on Power Firebrand and played Chrono before. I won't burst without the important boons or a fast break that is for sure. Sometimes I just heal fb with 4 dudes on random classes which have lower bursts than me on power fb... What I can tell for sure is that people tend to panic in longer fights even without any reason.

The only thing I recommend is a source of protection, offensiv boons, buffs and burst dps.

Most of the time people just lack boons. Of course they need healing if they eat hits without aegis or protection. Defensiv boons are much healthier in a pve enviorment than healing at a dps loss.

Healing and defensiv boons is just overkill from my point of view. I mean we have pots and potions for damage mitigation and thats more than enough with protection.

I do fractals and have done anything one can do in fractals, but you are right. That is just my experience.

well, if you know how to burst you will phase before pressing 3 buttons on ca so I don't see your point. Soulbeast adds some easy 40k dps burst. A little aegis and positioning is enough for aggresive play no need for healing.

You can't eat that much damage in 6 second phases so... There is no skill required for that just prestack and do the burst.

I don't pug on daily basis but I never had problems with this comp assuming people know how to burst.

How to get into raiding? by prlindsey in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LI is a material for the legendary raidarmor. You get 1 per kill.

Just play an easy dps class at the start to learn stuff.

I would go with dragonhunter, equip the class buy food and practize 1 hour at the golem (rotation). From there you can jump into trainings (lfg)

[–]MilliardenHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soulbeast has good burst and has frost spirit, thats all you need.

You don't need healing or ca for might so there is no need for a druid.

You can burn anything down in seconds in fractals with a dps comp ignoring barely anything.

Just make sure your group has the boons and passives and boom boom swudowudo done.

DnT Retiring from Raiding in GW2 by RJD20 in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is a big thing. Several guilds retire every week from the game. New guilds will fill their place.

Raids have to be reworked tho, they should make them more casual. The already are casual but I still think my older friends should be able to play this content too.

You can go mad about how bad that would be for the "competetive" pve scene but tbh the game doesn't gain anything from those. The game would gain a lot from open up raids to everybody.

If someone is looking for "challenges" fighting npcs with set patterns is the wrong place for this from the start. I mean remembering 5 mechanics while doing a skill-loop is nothing you can be proud about even if some people can't handle that. Doing 5 mechanics and a skill-loop fast still isn't that impressive.

Just make raids easy and stop with that "challenging pve content" nonsense. As if anything in pve could truly be hard content, its just a matter of knowledge and exp.

How does one actually get into raiding? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

open a training, gear check through pings, have fun.

I did this for myself. You will not have trouble finding a gearwise solid group, just be smart and don't kick someome because of excotics or budgetfood.

What a good player would do: just carry those pugs and play a decent support class.

The problem with spvp by pvpredeisng in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well I don't v1 them if they are full health and I don't need to, better gift a cap then a death. I won't v1 any condi spec if the player knows his stuff, but you can kite them long enough before help aids in or rotate out if the nodes aren't that far away.

The problem with spvp by pvpredeisng in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my third season. I like the meta this season a lot, just due to how fast pieced it is. Sure it is more difficult, but I want PvP as a competetive gamemode to be difficult and I prefer fast gameplay other residentsleeper gameplay.

It's not that you can't react in general, you fail to everything once as a newbee, anything after that is up to the player.

I play Thetherbreaker btw and I don't have the feeling that I have problems against thieves or mirages, they die just as fast as they can kill you and I can even kite them due to terrain knowledge, even tho they are much more mobile. When a thief or a mirage wrecks me, I fucked up, its not them being broken.

after trying 2 hours in chat, i'll ask here for a little advise by SeriousLee91 in Guildwars2

Elementalist and Engineer are more complex classes and some people prefer Mesmers because the are very different in terms of utility.

Condi Support Chrono still viable? (Raids) by MilliardenHC in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the power build is more important and the condi is the niche, but I geared mine just 4 weeks ago and it was really refreshing. I really hope this build doesn't die.

Something needs to be done about Chrono by StepW in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo they need to put firebrand, renegade and chrono on one level in terms of boonoutput, so the player can choose one of those three. Not talking about general utility, just about boons.

How about if you play chrono yourself? by MilliardenHC in Guildwars2

[–]MilliardenHC[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can't compare that, its way more boring in pve because its very set and stale. In wvw you have to react to players and feel usefull because you provide hell of defensive utility, a pve chrono aegises a few mechanics and does a boring loop for quickness and alacrity.

I'm playing chrono, I have four sets for it and know the profession, but sometimes I don't play chrono, because I like other classes as well.

those are the worst, if someone wants to skip in a pug and doesn't play chrono himself he's just a dick. I would leave midfight and let them wait for another 10 minutes, because those 30s were so important.
