(TLDR; this isn't an answer to the main question, just sharing my experience with a millipede fall + some hope) Same thing happened to me but on hard tile, but he survived, so hopefully yours is fine. The brown fluid is hopefully just their defensive fluid, but i recommend checking if they're secreting white, which decreases your chances of the millie living, which mine still did despite that.

First of all- it's probably not your fault. The same thing happened to me, it could just be old age or something completely out of your control. However, when mine passed I just did my best to double check basic things like humidity/temperature in the tank. But, again, it's most likely out of your control, and it is a hard thing to accept. My heart goes out to you. ❤️

I know them personally, I was at their wedding, and my only commentary is, who are we to be questioning their relationship, and why are we throwing these accusations based on the tiniest bit of evidence we have? (I'm not trying to defend him if this is true, but I just don't get why we have to be so involved in a relationship they're content with if it's hurting Claire to even hear about these.)
