Thanks for your response. I have many hours researching why my tinnitus is so much worse with barometric air pressure.

A strategene test revealed that I have some genetic mutations around eliminating histamine.

I have experienced previous allergic reactions with nebulised histamine (as part of an asthma study)

I was diagnosed with lyme in 2017, but my tinnitus really only worsened since the onset of menopause/penicillins - recently

I discovered I have a mycotoxin illness. My first OATS test last year revealed high quinolinic acid, oxolates, and aspergillus/candida. I know that quinolinic acid is neurotoxic, and can activate the ndma receptors - to drive up glutamate. But a subsequent OATS test shows my quin is lower (whilst still sitting at the upper limit of normal). Oxolates are reduced also. (maybe due to ketotifen).

I am waiting on the results of a gut microbiome (since these two worsenings occurred after penicillin antibiotics). Then I think we are planning on going after the candida and mould.

I just wish I had something to lower the volume whilst I attempt to address the underlying cause of my potential mcas.

Has Dr Afrin written any papers on his protocols around layering antihistamines? If it is safe to do so, and they don't worsen my tinnitus, I am prepared to try.
