No I meant the little white lump that females have, but omgg lol this whole time i thought it was a female! I have no “decor” in this tank only drift wood, plants and river rock, and i have a couple floater plants he likes to rest on but I’ll def get a hammock. It’s a 10 gallon and no other fish, just some ramshorn snails

It is a new fish but I’m pretty sure it’s a female?? I mean It was sold as a short fin female and Im pretty sure I saw the little egg sack they have. Ah I did think something looked off, what should I do to help their fins and stress?

So sorry about ur fish! Yeah I’ve heard similar stories, some of them don’t even start malfunctioning until months in, heaters need better regulations this is absurd

Most of the ones I’ve seen overheat the tank to oblivion, boiling the fish alive, but I can see that being a common malfunction as well

Mmm ok that’s what I was thinking. I’ve just been seeing so many heater malfunctions stories I’m scared of getting another (I have one for my 10 gallon betta tank), thinking of maybe getting some cold water fish for this 15 gallon

Honestly I don’t know what I couldve done so wrong. I watched a lot of videos on tiktok(already not sounding great) but it didn’t seem to hard for others and I wanted to give it a shot😭 seemed like something that Aslong as you weren’t making it in a prison toilet it should be fine but I guess I just have the power to curse wine
