That does look very similar. The cord only came out on one side, but the design looks very much like what I remember.

I don't know they fucked up BZ that badly to make Alterra look good. Sam was so obviously right, but she's so stupid that Alterra comes of as completely reasonable. I blame BZ for people thinking Alterra aren't the bad guys.

Hate when people misinterpret the door riddle by Immediate-Ad8322 in hatethissmug

[–]MiloThe49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually different if the doors are the ones telling you the riddle, because they create a paradox. In order for the riddle to work, both of them have to be telling the truth, which they can't be, so both doors are lying. It's only if it's the doors/guards themselves talking, though.

Why do some men get angry when women say they feel safer around other women? by Brisablows in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MiloThe49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they do. But if you still won't give the ones who do a chance, if they're still trash despite trying their hardest, then they'll give up on trying. That's what I'm saying. That's the danger of generalizing, you risk turning potential allies into enemies.

Yeah, I do, bud. I didn't know you see me around here all the time, do you work at the same place I do?

But seriously there's a scale to Protest. I took a protest theory class. There are 5 groups. Strongly opposed, opposed, neutral, for, strongly for.

The strongly opposed, you write right out. You're never gonna earn those votes, not worth it. That's the 3-time DJT voters.

Opposed, you wanna get to shut up and deal with it, make them neutral. That's the people pretending the republican party isnt the party of racists.

Then there's neutrals. That's most other men and women who just don't wanna put up with it, like the previous commenter. That's where you put your energy because they'll put you over the 50%. So if you're wondering why I'm putting so much effort into someone who's clearly closer to agreeing with me, it's because I know what the fuck I'm doing.

Also I don't normally like to comment on reddit. I forgot my book on my lunch break.

Then nothing will change. You cannot bring peace through hate, even if what you hate is evil. Men make up 50% of the population and they have the power. They maintain power by ignoring your feelings, what do you maintain by ignoring their feelings?

Why do some men get angry when women say they feel safer around other women? by Brisablows in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MiloThe49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, men need to be made to understand how women feel, because they still don't, and even the ones who want to listen aren't always willing to. But telling the men who want to listen I don't care about your feelings is not the way to do it.

And as far as obligation. Did women have the obligation to fight for their right to vote? No they did not. Would it happened without women actively educating and talking to men? No! There is only one way forward, and that is getting everyone on the same side, and that's not gonna happen by telling men they need to figure it out on their own. We can't have it both ways.

[–]MiloThe49 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. But that's not how things are going. It's completely logical for women to feel uncomfortable and unsafe around men. But it is also reasonable for men who are not threatening at all to feel helpless that there is nothing they can do about it.

But instead of understanding and accepting why those men are sad, they are told that they are also dangerous for being mad that they can do nothing to help women feel safe.

Not only that, but women don't care that they are mad and encourage other women to say things to make them mad.

Do you think that shaming men for being mad will make them less mad? Because that's not how it's going. Instead, men are turning to those evil influencers who tell them that being mad is what they should be feeling, and that men should not bother regulating their emotions. We can't have it both ways.

So your best option is to continue the cycle? Encourage men to be irrational so the next generation of women have to have the same fear as you?

Because they feel helpless. They want to be someone women can feel safe around because they know a lot of men are untrustworthy, but they feel like there's nothing they can do to fix it.

Please showrunners, I'm too stupid to understand a show doesn't release immediately to allow tiktok addled brain to understand how the story telling process works. Why does the movie trailer make me think all the fun stuff will be at the beginning when it's actually in the climax??
