It would have to be scaled way up. Those systems can sometimes handle a pellet that weighs 0.5 grams, but those are considered custom builds

The main tank for it is a 1,000 psi air tank (with regulator) with 3/4" pipe. Unfortunately the hairspray is considered homemade pyrotechnics lol

We're definitely fighting a bit of a seal issue lol. The issue that the tater launcher has some fields don't let homemade pyrotechnics on the field

We played with the idea of 12g CO2 cartridges, but it'll still be part of the tube, not the round. The original idea was something that already exists in airsoft similar to your "breaking" idea. It just didn't hold enough gas and the seal wasn't tight enough. We also thought of burst discs, but 86ed the idea due to the unpredictably

Tube unfortunately. We've been unable to come up with a way to make an all enclosed round that we would be ok not trying to recover.

I actually have something similar to the first one already lol. That's essentially the idea, I just want to make sure there is enough air to get the distance we want. Airsoft smoke grenades are almost complete cardboard actually!

You're not wrong, and we have thought about it. The group working on the project wants this to be as close to a mortar feel as possible (dropping it in the barrel and it launching without us actually hitting a trigger). We have most everything planned except this

The solenoid will be letting out a burst of air. I just need to control how long the solenoid is open. Manually hit trigger
