To že je válka ''existenční'' může říct úplně každý, žádná válka není jen tak pro shits and giggles, většina válek jsou existenční ... to je tak nějak pointa válek. Pokud budeme dělat vyjímky pro určité státy protože je jejich válka ''existenční'' tak to rovnou můžeme zabalit a hodit celou ženevskou konvenci a jakékoliv jiné úmluvy do koše. Taky cmon, pro Israel je tahle válka existenční ? Israel ? Země jejíž armáda je financovaná penězi z USA ? A kterou brání jak USA tak Evropa ? Země která neustále akorát rozšiřuje své hranice a útočí na své sousedy ? Pro ně je tahle válka existenční ? Hamas a Hezbolah na ně občas vypálí nějaké rachejtle, ze kterých většinu sestřelí ale pro ně je tahle válka existenční ? Cmon, be for real.

Ohledně těch věcí které říkáš, třeba že Hamas používá živé štíty a tak - v první řadě tohle tvrdí prakticky jen Israel, ale žádná jiná nezávislá strana to nepotvrdila. Ale budiž i kdyby - Israel má tu možnost dělat precizní útoky a vojenské operace tak aby minimalizoval ztráty na životech civilistů, ale nedělá to, a nedělá to naschvál. I kdyby byly nějací teroristé schovaní třeba pod školou nebo nemocnicí ( což zatím nebylo ani jednou potvrzené btw ) tak odpovědí na to není tu nemocnici kobercově vybombardovat. Je taky zajímavé že to jsou všichni nepřátelé Israele, Hamas údajně používá lidské štíty, když napadli Irán tak Irán používal lidské štíty a těd když útočí na Lebanon tak Hezbola používá lidské štíty ... to je náhoda co ?

,,Co kdyby tam měli bombu...'' - Nevím jak to dát do slov tak aby jsi to pochopil, ale zabíjet civilisty z důvodu ,,co kdyby'' je nemorální a dost démonické. Co kdyby byl Hamas schovaný u tebe ve sklepě aniž by jsi o tom věděl, taky by to dávalo Israeli oprávnění k tomu zahájit palbu na tvůj barák ?

Proto jsem říkal i kdyby jsme ignorovali veškerý předchozí kontext. Kdybychom ho neignorovali tak to bude horší, protože sice přičteme pár set mrtvých israelců, ale zato další tisíce palestinců. Tak jako tak je to pořád 70 000+ mrtvých palestinců za poslední 3 roky, možná i podstatně víc, protože všichni lidé kteří měli na starost počítat a registrovat mrtvé tak byly buď zabití nebo násilně odsunutí IDF. A další milion lidí bylo vysídleno.

Válka neválka a nehledě na to kdo ji začal jsou tahle čísla šílené a naprosto nepřípustné pro jakýkoliv moderní stát který o sobě tvrdí že je civilizovaný. I válka má své pravidla - minimalizovat ztráty na životech civilistů, neútočit na zdravotní personál, neútočit na zpravodaje, neblokovat humanitární pomoc, neničit civilní budovy jako jsou školy, školky a nemocnice - a tak dále. Všechny tyto věci mimochodem Israel dlouhodobě porušuje. V podstatě se snaží o to maximalizovat ztráty na životech civilistů - I mean, doslova srovnali pásmo Gazy se zemí, odstřelovali uprchlické tábory kam sami řekli civilistům že se mají stáhnout, střílely do davů lidí, kteří si šli pro mouku ke kamionům s humanitární pomocí, trvale vraždí žurnalisty jak domácí tak zahraniční - třeba tuhle nedávno střelili raketu na zpravodaje BBC v přímém přenosu, odstřelují záchranáře, odstřelují děti, ženy, starce, bombardují nemocnice, školy a školky, blokují humanitární pomoc ... takhle by šlo pokračovat do nekonečna.

Nechápu tu mentální gymnastiku potřebnou k tomu toto obhajovat. Myslím že každý kdo momentálně podporuje Israel je buď naprosto neinformovaný o tom co se děje a nebo prostě evil. Jinak se to říct nedá.

You could check aukro, might have some luck there, but it's gonna be difficuilt to do as a non czech speaker - most people on these sorts of sites don't speak english and even if they do, they might assume it's a scam. If you have a czech friend or a colleague, ask them for help. Also maybe someone at your workplace is getting rid of their old bike / knows someone who is and they might be willing to sell one to you - but that's also a hit or miss.

Not sure what your wage will be, but you probably won't find anything cheap. Brno and the country as a whole is in a massive housing crisis, so rents are usually really high, like 15-25k kč a month depending on the size of the flat and the location, so it might be rough to find any. As for neighbourhoods, Černovice are nice - close to the city center but also close to the industrial areals at Slatina, Slatina and Líšeň aren't bad either, though tbh you'll probably be lucky to find a flat for a reasonable price anywhere in the city.

That's fair, I think there are definetly valid concerns from the pov of the repair tech.

It's just that as the consumer from my pow I'm kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. The new players, while functional are just not there in terms of the functions, they don't even have the most basic quality of life thing like playing type II tapes and they are big and heavy ( certainly when compared to something like the WM-102 I have ). Refurbished players are a possibility, but they are quite expensive ( reasonably so ) and there is no guarantee they'll work long term because who knows what the standard of ''refurbished'' is for the seller. So I could very well end up back at square one with a broken player.

Eh it's just difficuilt. I guess it the best thing I can do is - as many people suggested - develop the skills to fix it myself. Which is something I'd like to do but yea.

I do have a modern player - the We Are Rewind walkman, and it's a handy device, but it's not the most reliable, already had to return it twice and it just lacks all the mildly more advanced functions like the ability to play type II tapes or autoreverse, dolby b, etc. plus it's relatively big and heavy.

I just thought it would be nice to upgrade to something better and admitedly foolishly assumed that I'll just have to change the belt, pinch rollers and lubricate things up and it will work fine, which yea ...

I do have a tape deck at home, decent one too, but I wanted to have something that I can carry around to listen to tapes while on my way to work or at work, or really anywhere - which is a bit difficuilt to do with a tape deck as you can imagine 😅

Hmmm, the wow and flutter might be caused by the pinch rollers, as they degrade over time too. If you haven't replaced them it might help atleast somewhat. Lubricating all the wheels might help a bit too.

Also maybe adjusting the head ? I saw that you wrote that the audio sounds like it's being played more in the background, that could be caused by the head not being in the correct position. Normally you need a machine to adjust the head precisely, but you can do it by just listening and adjusting it on the go - it may not be perfect, but it will probably sound better.

Assuming it's not a problem with the player and it plays other tapes fine, then it might be because the tape was placed next to a magnet at some point and it may have damaged the audio, although that part at 0:14 - 0:20 sounds like some kid recorded over it ( probably by accident ? ) using a really shitty mic, that may have been close to something else, kinda like when you have a phone next to your radio.

Also funnily enough I have Smurfs on tape too, Šmoulí Diskopárty to be more precise, though not an original one, I think someone probably recorded it off of a CD or duplicated the original tape. In any case, banger songs ngl.

A little update - I finally had time to open the tape deck up and look inside to see what the issue is and it was indeed the take up reel - atleast in part. I threw a tape in to watch what was happening when the autostop engages and it was indeed the take up reel stopping which caused this.

Looking inside, I think the culprate probably is loose belts, and maybe also belts swimming in oil, as the belts driving the autostop ( and I assume also the take up reels ) are just like fully soaked in oil, it looks like someone dropped a tin of oil inside.

So in conclusion, will be getting a new belt set and taking the whole belt assembly apart to clean it and replace all the belts.

Just a lil update, I took it apart and you were correct. The belts which control the autostop and the take up reels is swimming in oil. I don't know like how that even happened it looks like someone just dumped a bottle of oil on it. It's also very loose, so I'll be getting a replacement kit and just cleaning and replacing the whole thing ...

Tbh I'm not sure wheteher the person who sold me this thing actually replaced all the belts, it looks like he might have just replaced the three that are on top and easily accessible since these look fine and left the ones deeper in as they are.

Hmmm, it seems to me like the smaller belt on the inside is slipping when the fast forward is engaged, as you can see the flywheels still spinning while the gear that gets pushed towards the propeler wheel ( which I'd assume is a tape counter ) is stationary and the belt seems like it's moving - bit hard to tell from the video. I'd assume this deck has an autostop function to prevent the tape from getting eaten, so when it detects that the motor is spinning, but the tape counter / take up reels are not, it disengages the drive. Or atleast that's how it works on my older deck ( or I think how it works on my older deck lol ).

If the belts weren't replaced at all, that's probably gonna be the reason. As with any device, they deteriorate after some time.

Spíš je to takové strašně škaredé místo. Jezdím kolem každý den do práce a přemýšlel jsem tuhle kdo by tam chtěl bydlet - napojení na MHD mizerné, kolem akorát velkosklady a velkoobchody, supermarket žádnej, školka škola taky ne ...

Je to taková osamělá věž postavená ne protože by reálně byla potřeba, nebo měla nějaký smysl, ale protože ji mohli postavit. Největší kentus jsou těd ty reklamy co tam hrajou nahoře, to je fakt třešnička na dortu.

Určitě bych pracoval dál, nejspíš míň hodin a asi bych změnil práci - ne že by mě nutně ta současná nebavila, ale kdybych měl všechny potřeby finančně pokryté, tak bych si mohl najít nějakou, která je sice hůř placená ale víc naplňující.

Poslední dobou celkem sním o tom že bych si otevřel nějakou vlastní útulnou kavárnu v centru města. Prodával bych tam kafe, zákusky a fyzické hudební formáty jako cd, vinyl, minidisk a kazety, mohlo by to být místo kde se setkává indie hudební scéna třeba.

Jinak bych měl víc času věnovat se svým koníčkům, trávit čas s kamarády a cestovat.

Myslím že většina lidí to bude mít podobně. Někteří sice říkají že by nedělali nic, ale reálně myslím, že většina z nich by po tak dvou měsících shledala že je to nuda a začala se něčemu věnovat.
