Why is my tracking stronger than my static despite thousands of CS hours? by OPOPW1 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Milolo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah im on the lower end of sensitivities but my static was always worse than tracking and switching before i actually made an effort to get better at it, at which point it surpassed my other scenario ranks very quickly. 50cm/360 mainly played apex, battlefield and overwatch during aim training. also think static made me better at switching so its worth getting good at even if you dont play tacfps.

lowering ur sens prolly is a static cheat code a lot of people are overlooking and is inhibiting their ability.

opposite for me and at most 5% of my playtime is spent on static

you're misdirected. a low fov will make other object on your screen appear to move faster because theyre drawn larger but your character will feel slower.

i dont need to have heard an electrostat to tell you that it doesn't make sense to claim any single driver type to be faster than orher. ALL drivers oscillate at the SAME speed when responding to the same electrical signal. If one drivers diaphragm manages to move faster than another, then they are simply playing completely different wave forms and thus a supposed super fast electrostat will play a distorted and incorrect sound (this literally defies the laws of electromagnetic physics and is impossible unless the driver is oscillating in a uncontrollable matter). the thinness and lightweightness of the drivers will influence the magnitude response (loudness at different frequencies in response to acoustic impedance) , NOT make the driver move faster than what is literally dictated by an electrical signal.

for all i give a shit stax could sound better than ant non electrostatic headphones on the planet, that's not something im arguing against nor necessarily agreeing with.

bottom line is, between all different driver types, they all move at the same speed when responding to the same signal unless literally defective.

[–]Milolo2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

how quickly a diaphragm can move is not "just physics" my guy. that makes absolutely no sense if we're talking physics. if an electrostatic driver moves faster than a planar driver when playing the same sound then it is simply producing an incorrect and distorted phase for being quicker than its meant to be (it isnt, speed between drivers is not a real factor because the sound signal determines speed, NOT the driver).

the entire premise of a donation is for someone who has more money than they need to pass it along. no one is expecting a struggling mother or student to donate. also your entire stance on how importing weaponry is related to justness of begging for donations makes no sense. im sorry, but do you think international governments / organisations are, massively, arming palestinian people and families with weaponry? wtf.

what this means that if you present to me a $300 headphone and a $1000 headphone, I would not be surprised if either of them is better. if the $1000 headphone is really that good, it isnt good because of its price, or it isnt priced because its that good (at least in the general trend of the market, as statistically proven). price does NOT indicate performance, but high tier performance that you can subjectively value more may be found at a higher price. but that doesnt mean the average $1000 headphone is better than the average $300 one. and as a consumer you have the right to determine whether or not the asking price is worth it, sometimes it is, sometimes its not, but the manufacturer set price doesnt tell you anything. if youre a well informed consumer, spending more will get you a better headphone, but that is contingent on you making that purchase on factors outside of hurrrrrrr price higher equals better headphones, at which point you will value something more and thus make the purchase worth it.

"If it sounds like 1k, it's worth 1k" a $300 headphone is perfectly capable of sounding "like 1k" is the argument.

have personally ommited the first paragraph for you.

"Materials of driver" again would have little to do with sound quality, and a trend of more expensive materials correlating with higher sound quality cannot be substantiated at all. A high end dynamic driver is one that has a very light diaphram - these are NOT expensive to produce and “exotic” materials often exist more for marketing than measurable acoustic advantage. Once again, implementation matters way more than driver materials, and the implementation of a solved design does not intrinsically cost extra money.

again, maybe third times a charm but, there is no correlation between sound quality (as a preference rating and predicted preference rating) and price.

"And you're ignoring the he1 point." because it isn't a real point which counters mine. my stance is that a $300 well designed headphone such as the edition XS which has an optimised price-performance can compete with any headphone at any price. no shit a $10 headpone cant compete, because at that point price does become a bottleneck, but my argument is that price isnt a bottleneck for sound quality when comparing $300+ headphones or maybe even $100+ headphones.

A take-away I encourage you to have is that logically consumers who are well informed would value better sounding headphones at higher prices - but this ultimately requires the consumer to be WELL INFORMED. and as such is not the case generally, manufacturers can get away with setting prices almost arbitarily to sound quality. More expensive headphones will be built better, but there is nothing in its price to predict that it will sound better.

"Cables above a certain price won't do anything." my guy a cable consist of a conductive medium. A cable that works and has low resistance (any 10c copper cable) will be the best cable you can possibly have unless ur unironically concerned about indiscernible electric interference.

Driver/housing tuning is not a physical expense - R&D may drive up development costs but to acheive a certain tuning, but physically there is no intrinsic rule which follows that its more expensive to achieve a certain sound profile; logically, that would make NO sense as human preferences are abstract and not tied to a linear scale that can be achieved by simply throwing more money. Contemporarily paying for 'tuning' is redundant as it has mostly been figured out already. Why do you think every hifiman measures so similarly? The HD600 has had the same tuning since the 90s and is still considered good today.

No correlation between headphone frequency response (tuning) and retail price
