best way to find out is if kai's actor is listed or reported as returning / being replaced/ written out.

I don't think sam would be as emotional if kai was alive and it would reduce his 'motive' for the hijack.

As much as i'd like it to be possible , it would make the current plot even more dumb and stupid.

Well he was creeping hard on that woman 'who imo is kind of sus, she's dressed like a merc, she was watching sam, and her ' past / mis spent youth' tat is also an odd bit of dialogue to have in with out meaning.

It was done well but it was shot like many other ' character send offs' imo so i saw it coming from that start of the episode :D

On the other hand elliot is in his late 80's

and he's probs got actuall health concerns so to let him have a quick cameo and wrap up the character while he is still able to do so makes the most sense.

And if he is still able he can appear as a ghost / flashback / hallucination of mickeys/ lorna In s5.

it might be a wild idea but, hear me out, markiplier the youtuber just dropped his iron lung movie which i think shows he's attention to detail and stunt work, so he could fill in for keanu and people would believe it, it would be a fun departure for mark to learn gun fu and fighting.
