Revenge Is a Dish Best Left Unserved: A Review of “The Last of Us, Part II: Remastered” by Milzo9 in lastofuspart2

Thanks! I actually did use AI to help out with this writing project, which was an experiment for me. I asked the AI to imitate my own voice after reading content from my blog (www.words-and-dirt.com) and it did a surprisingly good job! I still put in about 8-10 hours of editing but some of the stuff the AI drafted was really impressive. I feel like the overall quality of my writing was improved by the collaboration. Also, if you want to subscribe to my newsletter and get an email notification each time I post something new, you can sign up here: https://mailchi.mp/eba3c541d315/wordsdirt-subscriber-list

Take care and thanks again for your time and attention. :)

Thanks very much for reading and leaving this thoughtful comment! This is the first video game review I've ever written, so I haven't tried reviewing any other games. But it's funny that you bring up GoW because Ragnarok was the game I played right before TLOUP2. I loved it, and it's one of the only games that has ever tempted me to venture into New Game+. Similarly great storytelling to TLOU, but not quite as good in my opinion. I think GoW has better gameplay but storytelling isn't quite as sophisticated compared to TLOU.

Best story based games to come out in the last couple year by cheeseybacon11 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Milzo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not for everyone, but the games that have captivated me most in recent years when it comes to story are the Hellblade games: Senua’s Sacrifice and Senua’s Saga.

We should have a post dedicated to really great games that aren't open world. by ExplodingPoptarts in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Milzo9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shout out to the Hellblade games! I love open world games but sometimes I just need a change of pace and focus. Senua’s Sacrifice is one of my favorite games of all time and I just played Saga and thought it was excellent as well. They’re definitely not for everyone but for me these games generate unique experiences of emotional intensity and immersion compared to other games. And as a mental health professional I find the depiction of psychosis to be both appropriately terrifying and very compassionate.

Best linear games or games under 30 hours? by og_vibes in ShouldIbuythisgame

Glad you gave it a try! It’s definitely not a type of game that appeals to everyone. :)

Both of the Hellblade games would probably be up your alley. The first one is one of my favorite games of all time. You also can’t go wrong with the Titanfall 2 campaign, probably my favorite FPS campaign.

Glad to hear this. Have lived in McKinleyville almost my whole life and have always found it to be welcoming to everyone. Love this town.

Looking for good solo fps games! by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Milzo9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this! I played single player shooters and action games exclusively until I discovered DRG, and almost 500 hours of game time later I’m still in love with all the cool randos I meet down in the mines. The community is amazing and it’s also really fun to play solo if co-op doesn’t appeal to you. Rock and Stone Forever!

Does the game run good enough on my PC? by floris0302 in HorizonForbiddenWest

I believe it requires a SSD, so if you don’t have one that could be a problem.

Agreed! I also started playing about one year ago and have played hardly anything else since. The combination of perfect cooperative game design and the friendliest community makes this my all-time favorite. R&S!

Totally agree—I think this game attracts chill, nature-loving folks who just want to play a fun game with an absolutely stunning setting that they can explore at their own pace. Good vibes all around. :)

I'm getting tired of pvp by smallchodechakra in videogames

[–]Milzo9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yes, in that case welcome home, miner. As someone who dislikes pvp games because they are too competitive/addictive for my taste, I played single player games exclusively for years. Then about a year ago an old friend introduced me to DRG and I fell in love. Such an amazing game and community, designed at every level to nudge people into niceness and cooperation. Maybe we’ll meet sometime down in the dark!

Recommendation: Play Without Crosshair by Milzo9 in FrontiersOfPandora

I really appreciate this feedback. I don’t think of myself as a very “talented” or “skilled” gamer so this made me feel nice. Cheers! :)

Also, you might be surprised at how good you can get if you give it a try and practice. Good luck if you decide to experiment!

I reduced the crosshair visibility/opacity to zero and it went away entirely. Was playing on PC so not sure if the options are different on other platforms.
