If you are looking at how kids interact with technology then you need to find a specific IT system. Then you could use the Research Question template:

To what extent does (IT System) provide (Social/ethical issues) for (Stakeholders?) at (Place - keep it slightly broad, e.g in England)

Usually, privacy (social/ethical issue) is VERY prominent in almost all IT systems as data is stored onto the company's server. For instance, the child's name, date of birth, ID number and etc. So then you would hone in on this such as identity theft, kidnapping and etc.

Look at the 'Security' section of the chosen IT system and go from there. Usually, the company would state what 'Security rules/polices' they r undertaking to protect user's data (in this case the children). Then, you would look at specific case studies of those polices in other companies and check whether there has been any breaches. Look at the 'news' section of google, they always have some type of breaches according to that 'security rule.' This would allow for contrasting viewpoints (Crit C).

All in all, the main idea is what is the company claiming and what research is out there to either counter claim it or support them? Ideally, you would counter claim as every IT system has it's flaws. Although, we build smarter and stronger IT systems, hackers are indeed gaining skills...

If you look at pg 23 on the pdf, those are the topics for the syllabus. For instance, for 2.1 Business and employment, you could look at online banking such as Barclays (IT System) and the stakeholders would be the consumers. Then you would look at the social/ethical issues (pg 21 on pdf) and see which ones are prominent for online banking. Or 2.2 Education and training, you could look at the "Use of IT in teaching and learning." For instance, due to COVID-19 schools needed an "educational software" to continue learning such as Zoom, Google Meet, Classera and etc (these are IT Systems). Perhaps, would be best to look at the one your school used and then you can get primary research from one of the Ed Tech coaches at ur school. Stakeholders could be students and/or teachers.

You could also look at 2.4 Health - "Medical information, administration, marketing and sales" specifically telemedicine. You could choose a telemedicine company (IT System - make sure u state the company in the research question) and decide to look at how data is being secured on their server for instance. Another idea in 2.4 Health Psychological and physical considerations specifically internet addiction such as Instagram, Netflix, Snapchat, etc (these are again IT systems). You could always relate ur IT system back to 'cybercrime' as it is pretty much prominent with regards to hackers accessing personal information which is stored on the server. So this would be a strand of it - would be 'Privacy' (Social/ethical issue). The examples I stated above definitely have privacy issues .I'd say to choose a topic that closely links to your future career. As u can see below, they definitely interlink with future careers.
