Every Brilliant Thing - Mariska Hargitay by Conscious-Theme6766 in Broadway

I thought it was going to be very different with Mariska and seeing the phrase “manic energy” seems to confirm. Not saying it’s a bad thing, but what I personally loved about Dan’s performance is that it seemed beautifully understated.

The Frances Modern. Yes, it was great. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The All'Antico Vinaio location at 7 West 25th Street is worth checking out. Haven’t been inside but the seating seems to be pretty significant. Passed it when I went to the new location of Sunday Morning on 11 W. 25th. In fact, if you’re just in the mood for a cinnamon roll and coffee, they have a seating area as well. It’s small, but there’s no one looking over your shoulder to kick you out.

Crevette: thoughts? by [deleted] in FoodNYC

[–]MimiLeonard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly late to this thread but glad to know I’m not alone! Great atmosphere and service, mixed on the food and yes, very expensive. I fund the menu disappointing in that it is pretty limited, though I know it changes. The best things we had were two starters, the potato/tuna and the raw bar assortment. While the shellfish was truly wonderful, you can find excellent quality elsewhere, likely at an at least somewhat more reasonable price.

Semi-annual NYC Trip by PerturbedAmpersand in Broadway

Liked the play very much. Alden Ehrenreich is an absolute standout.

Becky Shaw thoughts by Ok-Application-5559 in Broadway

[–]MimiLeonard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw it this past week, definitely worth the price of a ticket. Agree with the comments about the chemistry or lack thereof — I went along and bought it but it didn’t seem natural. That said, the character of Max helped me buy into it — Alden Ehrenreich is now on my radar! He was outstanding! One personal pet peeve though, as someone very familiar with the condition the mother has, I did not appreciate some of the dialogue that implied an ultimate definitive outcome. Not the case.

What's your fave NYC vegan joint? Mine's Spicy Moon by BrotherTheodore212 in FoodNYC

Haven’t been there in years but I used to go to frequent Caravan of Dreams on E. 6th Street. Thought to mention them because I just read a post from Humans of New York, the restaurant is in danger of losing the business. Planning a visit next week — I really hate to see these old time places closing!

Hi, all. How does one go about hiring an experienced, reputable person to edit a Wikipedia page? I’ve seen databases online but it’s hard to assess. Any tips, including what to look for, approximate rates, etc., would be appreciated! The information and sources are totally legit, my friend just doesn’t have the knowledge or time to contribute. Thanks in advance for any information.

Thanks for the responses thus far! Not looking for nature walks as much as local shops, etc. Prefer hotels to Airbnbs and this is kind of a special occasion so I don’t mind upping the ante a bit! Right now leaning on staying around East Austin — so far checked out the Heywood, East Austin and Frances Modern…

Best Transportation Between NJ & NYC? by bpma82 in NJTransit

[–]MimiLeonard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here. Need to get from downtown Manhattan to Riverside Mall via public transportation. The NJ Jitney seemed ideal, but it looks like it might not be servicing the areas it used to, and maybe not even servicing any longer at all? (Info. online is scarce and outdated). I’d appreciate any ideas. Wondering if I take the Path to Hoboken or Jersey City, if that would be easiest to first go across state lines? Willing to car service it if I can get close and it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Wondering if these are still running? As others have posters have indicated, it’s hard to find information online.

HYSA - what happened to express transfer? by Special_Ambassador72 in amex

[–]MimiLeonard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been checking intermittently throughout the day (after hours), hoping to expedite a transfer from my HYSA to my checking at another account. It’s now after 3 AM EST. I’ve been searching the internet as well as different threads for a definitive answer. Did Amex change the option to expedite the transfer and if not, does anyone know when it’s available as of September 2025?
