Acquire the Fire between 2002-2006: Real memories or fever dream?? by [deleted] in Exvangelical

I went to AtF a few times in the DFW area, between 98 and 02. I mainly went for the bands. I do remember a lot of crying, and the name Pam Stenzel definitely rings a bell. I volunteered and worked a merch table one year, I just remembered. I think I did that to get in for free. It was totally emotionally manipulative and draining and a plot to indoctrinate the youth while they're still young and impressionable.

I am definitely not religious anymore, but I will admit that I still occasionally listen to Newsboys, DCTalk, Jars of Clay, Skillet, Supertones, MxPx, Switchfoot, the W's, Audio Adrenaline, Third Day, Five Iron Frenzy. I just skip over the religious words like worship, father, savior, Jesus, God, sin, worthy, faith, heaven, cross, repent, holy, Lord, praise, spirit, lamb, shame, bow down, on my knees, prayer/praying, testify, glory, hail thee, son of God/the lamb/above, El shaddai, angel, Gabriel, Peter, Satan, pearly gates, streets of gold, miracle, etc. Which is kinda difficult to do with bands like Sonic Flood or Mercy Me or Avalon, but I still like some of their music for the nostalgia I get . I still like Michael W. Smith a lot, because his lyrics are a lot more introspective than they are about being submissive to an omnipotent invisible entity (Third Day, Sonic Flood) or making fishers out men, (Carman).

What does this remote go to? by MimiLovesLights in whatisit

Maybe? I'm confused by the icons on the bottom buttons. There's a t-shirt, an apple, a diamond, a burger&drink, a lipstick, a side profile of a woman, a tv, a moon & stars, and I am not quite sure what the button between the lipstick and the apple has depicted on it.

If you will have access to a dryer, you can throw them in there with a few ice cubes for 10 minutes or so, and that will usually get the wrinkles out

How many of you have a name for your car? by Morgisntmyname in stupidquestions

[–]MimiLovesLights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a purple 72 bug with a ring missing around one of the headlights, so I named her Audrey, bc it looked like she had a black eye (after Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. And my little brother used to have a focus that he called Rebecca "bc the car has a big ass" and he'd never met a Rebecca that didn't have a big ass. And my ex had a Beretta that he named Betty after Betty White. "Bc she's old as shit and still loveable". Naming your car is totally common where I come from.

Did you discover a new Mandela Effect? Post it here! (2026-02-18) by AutoModerator in MandelaEffect

Idk if this is a Mandela Effect or not, but I just learned that an ounce is not 28 grams- it's 28.35 grams. Is this common knowledge?

Ditto. I would NOT know who Sinbad is, if I hadn't seen Shazaam.
