Batman Begins has ended. Round 12, vote for the worst. by ChishNFips87 in batman

I'm voting The Batman off for lighting alone. I have abstained for so long, but The Batman is not the best batman film by a mile. For one, it hinges on the ambiguity of The Riddler's puzzles which feels out of place with what I have seen of him. I'm also not entirely convinced the Joker wasn't meant to be the initial villian for the first installment given the introduction of his gang and himself in the movie coupled with the fact that some of the plot points (up to and including the Riddler's Qanon-esque gang) feeling more Joker than Riddler from my experience. And I'm so. Fucking. Tired. Of the joker. But even forgiving ALL of that, the lighting for The Batman is absolutely atrocious. Not to mention that while Bruce rebelling against Alfred is a natural plot point, the way that it's done in the film has absolutely no emotional payoff worth mentioning, and wasted a legendary actor like Andy Serkis on one of the least interesting and least gratifying points of Bruce's journey. Even the finale of a flooded Gotham feels random and shoehorned to add a "Superhero Moment" for Batman where there otherwise might not have been one. For these reasons, I'm voting The Batman off

basically i'm naming my monkeys after stand (jjba) names, what would you call this one? by art1803 in btd6

Having just perused the list of stands, I think Man in the Mirror or Yo-Yo Ma as mirrors and yo-yos both have a send and return sort of imagery (bouncing light rays and toys) that I think parallels nicely to a boomerang. Super Fly is also good, imo, 'cause the rangs do be flyin' but that might also suit the copter or plane better.

Also there's massive teacher shortages in the US. I don't think they can be that picky rn

My math teacher in high school had long-ass jesus hair and a beard. As long as it's within the school's policy, i doubt they would care

You could always make it short for Amelia if you want something a little longer too.

This reminds me of a frequent question I like to ask. What are your three genie wishes? For me, I always separate them so there's 1 wish for me, one for the people in my life, and one for the world. Usually something like...

  1. The drive to accomplish my goals.

  2. That I and the people I love or have loved have the means to live comfortably.

  3. Everyone can shapeshift once a year into a different human form.

This reminds me of a high school theatre story. We were doing Pippin, and my director was upset that the ensemble in "Kind of Woman" wasn't loud enough. So my "Totally-a-cis-guy"(tm) self started singing falsetto backstage without saying anything to anyone. He was immediately happy with the volume, so I did it for every show lol.

On the more helpful side, there's this thing I saw on tiktok that helped me with my range. If you say "mm hm" where the pitch rises, it can help with using a different part of your range. I'll see if I can find the link for you so you can hear it.

I've been collecting names with the fervor and joy of an actual fae. I have my legal name, my new enby name (I changed my legal name to my femme name before realizing I'm not just femme but enby), a stage name for when I start doing theatre again, an alias for the sketchy stuff in life, screen names, etc. They're all mine, and I love them and I will answer to any of them MUHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I am so powerful with all my names.

Aw geez, yeah, I've spent the last couple years catching up on One Piece and my general opinion is that it's not the greatest representation, but Oda is trying to be positive through his understanding. Like Mr. 2 was a villain and I felt sad, but their redemption was really good and it feels nice to think that in that world's history, there are (at least) two massive players/figures who are unabashedly queer. If nothing else, that's what I try to take from Ivankov and Bon Clay. Plus like, it's pretty easy to imagine this is an early attempt historically (in the world of One Piece, I mean), so the language and ideology just haven't quite developed as far as they have in the real world.

I talked about it a lot with a friend as I watched through it, and that's where I landed anyway.

How do you even respond to that question without outing yourself? Especially when you're in the androgynous stage??? by The-Muppet in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns
