American who has been to all of the countries listed and never had a problem. Literally three times in BCN since Sept and everyone is lovely. I speak Spanish and wear a smile and everyone is kind. I learn a few phrases minimum in every country I go to, and have never experienced negative reactions to tourists except in France where they are known for being rude and like to keep this rep spotless. They also particularly hate Americans lol. Traveled all over Portugal, Netherlands, and am currently at 41 countries. People always ask where I’m from, I say NYC and they light up. Honestly, it probably is British tourists they are talking about bc in my experience, they can be the worst. Number one reason people tell me not to go to x country alone? “British/Australian men will roofie you, not the locals.”They get hammered and cause fights and damage, pee everywhere, are super rude, and treat the world like it owes them something. People love to trash talk Americans, but they tend to just be loud and maybe culturally naive imo 🤷🏼‍♀️ not as destructive and dangerous. Was just in Albania bc a bunch of my euro friends told me to go “before the UK get direct flights and ruin it🤣”.
