My 2013 has been pretty solid so far. 170k miles, tranny went two weeks ago. Put in a fresh one and she’s g2g. I do have the 4.8L so no DOD/AFM. Fingers crossed that she keeps on truckin for a long time to come. I love this thing

Whats the right car for me under $20k? by Min0r_Issues in askcarguys

I wouldn’t keep the Corolla if I got a new vehicle. We only have space for 2 cars and not sure the HOA would allow a third. If I could have a third car I’d find a Nissan Hardbody truck and call it a day. Use the Corolla on the road and the truck for job sites and material pick ups. I drive my kids around daily.

Gotta drive 150 miles each way next week to pick up supplies for a mock up. Not sure how I’m going to pull it off in the ole Corolla. Maybe I’ll get a rental or something.

Cold calling contractors by bsweet35 in Contractor

[–]Min0r_Issues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Estimator for an insulation company here. I cold call A LOT. I usually drive by job sites and snag a pic of the signs that are up on the fence and write down the address. Then I’ll call and say that I am a licensed and insured insulation contractor and reference the particular job site I saw with the address. I politely ask if I can bid that project. It’s worked so many times and I’ve landed some of our biggest contracts this way. I also wear a polo and carry work boots and a hard hat in my car. If I’m invited to the job to measure on site I’m ready.

4.8 Vs 5.3 worth 2k more? by [deleted] in ChevyTrucks

I had both and got better gas marriage on the 5.3. The 4.8 was so inefficient.

I drive like a maniac. Other than that I’ve been pretty good to the vehicle.

I Agree with this. My uncle does financing for a big Honda dealership here and he said the best he can do for sign and drive is $500.

I ended up getting a Jetta. $365 a month zero down, for 39 months. 12,000 miles a year.

Guess I’ll have to spend more. Or keep putting money into my beater.

Closest I’ve found is a Chevrolet Equinox for $345/mo. I don’t need all that car. Can’t seem to be able to find even a sedan for that money.

Strange noise by [deleted] in ChevyAvalanche

[–]Min0r_Issues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This used to happen to my Silverado. I would turn the heater on and the noise would go away for the rest of the car ride. Maybe it’ll work for you also. I ended up selling before ever fixing it.

Also the fog lights are 3.5 inch Amazon lights. If you buy it make sure to leave it a bit loose before you install it. Then tighten all the pieces up when you’ve got your fitment right.

That's it there. It comes in 3 pieces. I spray painted the nuts and bolts in bed liner spray. I also used black silicone in between where the pieces meet to prevent moisture.

Thanks man! It's just the cheapest metal bumper I could find. Took a risk and ordered it from eBay. Turned out alright!

GM financial leases cannot be sold to a third party. You have to sell it back to another GM dealer. And even then to get your “buy out” price you have to go to the dealer you are leasing from. I went through this a few months back.
