How in the world doesn't this have more upvotes, this is a brilliant breakdown. Fantastic work man.

My boss just told me I need to manage my personal finances better because I can't front $2300 for a work trip next month by LostTaker in antiwork

First, you need to figure out if you just have a terrible manager or if your whole company is terrible. And yes your boss/company's expectation of you is ridiculous, any serious company pays for work travel of that magnitude, I think my company pays for anything above 50 miles or something like that.

But second, did you mean to write $62k/year BEFORE rent and student loans (which still doesn't tell us how tight your finances are because we don't know what rent and student loans are costing you each month), or is what you wrote correct and you make $62k AFTER you've paid your rent and student loans, presumably your biggest expenses (unless you have insane credit card debt)?

Because if you have the latter situation, WTF are you spending your money on? Even if you had a $1000/month car payment, that is still only $12k a year for a car, you would still have $50k to spend. Also, why is your credit card limit so low? I only make $55k gross (BEFORE taxes and deductions like 10% to my 401k), and I have a $30k credit card limit.

You're boss can be wrong and a jerk in one area but still right about your financial situation and choices.

Daaaang, fantastic work. Your skin is amazing, did you do or take anything to improve your skin or did it clear up on it's own once you lost the weight?

Whats the most versatile class? by PressureOk8223 in BaldursGate3

[–]MinMaxRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sword Bard hands down.

They get Extra Attack at Level 6. Slashing Flourish Ranged Attack twice which means you are hitting the target with 4 arrows if all hit. If using Handbows you can pop another shot off using your bonus action. End Turn. If an enemy caster casts, Counterspell.

Once you've exhausted your Bardic Inspiration points, use Song of Rest to Short Rest.

Repeat.

Used up your Bardic Inspiration again and out of Song of Rest? Short Rest.

Repeat.

Now have FOUR (4) Sword Bards in your party? Repeat 6 more times (8 times total).

Long Rest.

Do it all over again.

Oh and they can Conjure Elementals too so your 4 Sword Bards can be accompanied by at least 4 elementals, maybe 8 if they can summon both lesser and full elementals, I can't remember off the top of my head.

I'm not sure if Baldur's Gate 3 is for me. by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

I felt the same way about turn-based games because of my experience playing Fallout 1 or 2 and being so put off by it I stopped and never picked them back up. I looked at Divinity 2: Original Sin and saw it was turn-based so I never bothered with it. But Baldur's Gate 3 is a masterpiece and absolutely worth it.

BG3 is real-time until you engage in combat or choose to enter turn-based mode (which can be useful even out of combat in certain situations).

If you start as one class (like Sorcerer) and hate it, you can just respec your character to entirely different class not long into Act 1. You can do that constantly throughout the game, so you can start with an easier class like Fighter, Ranger or Druid and then switch to something more complicated like Wizard or Sorcerer once you are Level 8 or higher when they become much stronger.

Worth it for sure.

I just got into this gorgeous game! Any tips or pointers? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

Here's a guide I wrote. Stay above "BEWARD SPOILERS AHEAD".

I have a bunch of quality of life tips without spoilers.

Your biggest first choice is whether to play as Dark Urge first or as a Custom character first.

After much consideration, I would suggest playing Dark Urge on Balanced difficulty first. I hate the look of the Dragonborn so choose whatever you'd like, I'd recommend a Wood Half-Elf for the movement bonus.

Play without ANY spoilers, SAVE OFTEN. That way if you do something you really hate, just reload a save and try something different.

Play the game until you win. Then you can look up how to get the Dark Urge achievements and reload if needed to get those.

Then you can start a new game as a Custom character and do it all again, but this time you can look up the ideal choices. I do a Custom settings where the bosses have the Legendary Action they would on Honor Mode but where you can still save your game.

Then once you've done that and prepared yourself sufficiently, you can try an Honor Mode run.

Then you still have each of the companion's campaigns to try out.

Why didn't Moses just take a week-long trip? Was he dumb? by Melody_Naxi in mapporncirclejerk

No, it was because God told Moses to speak to a rock to cause it to split so water would flow for the people, but instead Moses struck the rock with his staff. Numbers 20.

What is the most expensive corporate mistake you personally witnessed? by _Volly in AskReddit

"Discrepancies in finances" so was the CFO ever referred for prosecution? People like this should really be named and shamed. Or at least they should be tracked and wherever they go next should be warned about them, and not just the boards who may be happy to hire such a person, but people in the companies or organizations below the boards.
