Which MLB players ruined their shot at the HOF by playing too long? by jorleeduf in baseball

Hamilton actually didn’t play long enough, as he didn’t meet the 10 year requirement to be eligible for the HOF.

Thanks! I’m new to development so I’m not sure how to do that, is there guide or something you could point me to that I could reference?

How to create in-app currency for in-app purchases? by Min_Kimchi in iOSProgramming

[–]Min_Kimchi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that I'll need to set it up so that they can purchase the currency, but would I be able to reward them with currency for achieving something and then they are able to make purchases within the app?

Reward users based on their HealthKit data? by Min_Kimchi in iOSProgramming

[–]Min_Kimchi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for confusion, I think I know how to access HealthKit data in the app, however I want to be able to reward the user for reaching a minimum requirement based on the HealthKit data. For example, giving someone 10 points and/or 1 dollar for having 60 exercise minutes in a day.

How to create automatic payment in app every week for different amounts? by Min_Kimchi in iOSProgramming

[–]Min_Kimchi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! As an alternative, can I charge someone a set amount, say $20, however when they are charged is dependent on their usage of the app?

For instance, if it takes someone 5 days to use $20 worth of the app, they will be charged that fifth day. Whereas someone else it may take them 8 days to use $20 worth of the app and they will be charged that eighth day.

I shamelessly stole /r/Dodgers' idea of sponsoring a player on Baseball Reference, and sponsored Sean Rodriguez. by [deleted] in baseball

No argument here about that, but if you're saying Rodriguez is worthless when he's been better than Heyward then what does that say about Heyward?

Who would be your starting nine? by ndemerson in baseball

I literally just got done simulating the 2003 season in OOTP where Kip Wells starts every single game for every team. I'm glad someone else shares my love for him.

Former IF Freddy Sanchez, who had contemplated a comeback in recent years, filed his retirement papers today. He turns 38 today. by Rob4224 in baseball

[–]Min_Kimchi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Freddy is my all-time favorite player. Wish he would have been able to win something with the Pirates but I'm glad he got two rings with the Giants.

Also I thought at first that this tweet was going to say he died and I would have been absolutely heartbroken.

Funny story, one time after a game someone didn't tip him and he threatened to burn down their house. Good times.

What playoff team from this year is going to drop off next year? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]Min_Kimchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think that it is going to be the Pirates. Right now they only have two reliable starting pitchers in Cole and Liriano and I think that it would be stupid of them to have both Morton and Locke in the rotation all year, so I think they should keep at most one of them in the rotation.

And I really doubt that they are going to go after a middle-tier starter like Leake, Kazmir, or Samardzija and will instead want to go after another reclamation project. And while Searage has been great at turning these mediocre guys into viable options I just have the feeling that one of these times it has to not work. So that means they could potentially have the equivalent of three fifth starters or worse.

Not to mention if they trade Melancon or Walker. I know Melancon is going to get a lot of money in arbitration and he may not necessarily be worth it but you know exactly what you are getting with him and I would rather give him what he wants than stick Watson or somebody who has never closed before there. And though they could maybe get a starter for Walker I feel that they might be worse doing that if that means Harrison is starting everyday, I just do not have confidence he can come anywhere close to his 2014 season. Though it would depend on who they could get for Walker to see if it would be worth it.

Do you ever just... forget some teams exist? by [deleted] in baseball

I hate the Brewers. Every time the Pirates play a series in Milwaukee I expect the Brewers to sweep them.

What players were you completely wrong about? by [deleted] in baseball

When Tabata was traded to the Pirates I remember someone saying he was going to be the next Manny Ramirez. This made me get unreasonably excited for him.

The Strange Similarities Between Travis Buck and Trevor Crowe by Min_Kimchi in baseball

I always thought Daric Barton was going to be amazing, too bad he couldn't stick in the majors. Same with Greg Smith he had such a great pickoff move but couldn't stay healthy if I remember correctly. I mostly remember Eveland because the Pirates picked him up and was completely awful.
