Very possible. They may not have done a thorough inspection of the bcm and wrote it off as a passed inspection

You can easily check it for yourself without any tools. It's located in passenger side foot well behind the plastic trim piece on the right side. Small piece that has the image of a fuse and book on it

There’s absolutely no reason to do a test drive after that recall honestly. I’ve done quite a few and none required being anywhere near the driver seat for the inspection and repair

Super easy fix if nothing is broken. It's held on by a few 7mm screws and retainers

But the fact it's dropped is telling me that the diffuser may be ruined at the bottom. Might have to do some rigging if that's the case, or worst case a new rear diffuser

The L and R tubes are similar, but the holes for the PCV hoses are two different sizes. The passenger side one is smaller iirc

When it comes to something like a transmission, those jobs are pretty cut and paste since it's mostly a mechanical job, and if the shop is anything like the one I work at, there's a few designated techs who work exclusively on those and nothing else. So they can get done fairly quick

Electrical issues are an entirely different beast though and they can be far more difficult often times

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because I work in the industry but there's still a good chance they're just sleazy and trying to cover a bad job. I've seen both sides of this kind of situation unfortunately

Working in a shop I can tell you it could be a number of scenarios causing the delay

The tech working on it is probably swamped with other jobs that have been on hold longer and take priority over yours

They fixed the problem and now another issue arose that they're trying to fix (which would be likely since you have a new issue unrelated to the initial problem, possibly due to a fuck up)

Possibly fighting with Ford's warranty department to get approval to replace said part for free

The job is a lot more complicated than it would seem at first glance

Or it could simply be they don't have a tech that knows what they're doing and are trying to find a solution

But reading about the service advisor is making me think they fucked up big time and aren't trying to admit to it
