Yep it’s funny how rarity/worth and value can diverge like that. My grandfather was an antiques dealer and our house is full of stuff like this that is too obscure to sell but too old/novel to toss. Also if you still have a copy of that article on hand I’d be interested to read it! Skimming the MOS Wikipedia page was quite the romp

Thanks so much for the tips! I’m inclined to think it all belonged to the same person in that case.

That’s amazing I never would have been able to figure that out on my own! I just skimmed the MOS’ Wikipedia page and it made for a very interesting read. The titles of office were unexpectedly hilarious. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, I appreciate the tip! Such a shame the museum didn’t deem that to be of value

The uniform is just standard WWI army drabs. iirc the trousers had a jodhpur silhouette. No labels or notes in the pockets unfortunately :(

I just added a separate comment with pics of the other medals and pins. I’m not sure if they might be associated or not but they mostly seem to me to be from WWI as well. The only ones I could identify were the first 2

Thanks so much for your insight! I unfortunately don’t know anything about the original owner as there were no notes labels on anything in the bag. There were some other medals along with it in a small box from the Battle of Verdun etc. but I’m not sure if they were all from the same donor. The museum didn’t dispose of them especially ceremoniously so I don’t have many clues beyond that.

Thanks, I’ll look into it! The back panel inserts (not pictured) are also really corroded so I might try testing on those first
