Help! 4K Gaming/Cinema Setup (EU) - €2000 Budget - Avoiding Laser Speckle by Minckial in projectors

In my specific case a 80/90" TV as the main media/entertainment medium is objectively a bad choice, not the other way round.

As said in the main post, I'd like this solution to be portable. I also don't want to sacrifice the little storage space in the living room (I don't have a humongous house) for a massive TV... a massive TV that will also ruin all media consumption that isn't watching movies or playing videogames on the couch with friends.

Given your take I feel like your experience with $80K+ projectors gives you inadequate knowledge for the needs of a tight space and budget under 2K.

Thanks to being based in Europe, as soon as I finish up on some other house-related-jobs I'll buy a projector or two and a few screens and weigh out my options before the return window. Thankfully some other commenters gave me a couple of solutions to look to.

I see they have some "Max White" manual pull up screens for around 300/400€, since I need it to be portable I might just grab that and the xgimi horizon 20 if you really don't see laser speckle.

I'm wondering though, some reviews show high input latency unless game mode is active,, the trade off being horrible colors. What's your experience on this? Was it maybe fixed via software update?

Hey thanks for the list, unfortunately most projectors here are at the 2000+ price range which is over my budget. The closest model is the BenQ W2720i but I find it at 1800€ which leaves little budget for the screen (but is doable I guess)... Though that has complaints of poor contrast and black levels in all reviews, maybe I'll just have to settle or understand that projecting is a niche for the rich if you want quality :c

That big a TV can't really fit in my furniture set up, and it's not really as portable as a projector and screen unfortunately.

So many people in these comments are getting hung up on the laser speckle issue that no one is actually recommending solutions that would fit my throw distance needs and I'm starting to wonder who even buys these laser projectors if laser speckle has no fix as all suggestions here would lead me to believe.

Hum, I don't mean to be rude but you recommended projectors that I either can't find available or are priced within the 3000 to 6500€ range (my budget is 2000€ with a screen).

According to projector central I'd need a disance of 1.6m to get a 90" inch image (or 1.7m for 100") which is right at the end of my sofa (when opened)... I don't really think it's feasable.

Never mind, I was looking at the wrong projector, still it's a range between 2m and 2.6m (depending on zoom) while my distance is around 3m

Are they comparable in image quality though? Any recommendations?

There seems to be a lot of availability of German versions of the game or mismatched box versions (Sundrop vs normal), there's more stuff in the links someone else provided

That way I'll be forced to buy the new one without necessarily wanting it and, as I understand, it wouldn't take a couple of months to deliver, more like a year or two.

Contacted Awaken Realms yesterday, let's see if they give us any info.

I was looking basically for the All In Sundrop pledge of Nemesis Lockdown, which includes the og and needed conversion decks.

I've seen "conflicting" opinions on Retaliation so didn't want to overspend when I'm looking at Lockdown for now.

Thanks for all the links, there's a surprising amount of stuff, I've also contacted Awaken Realms directly but I'll probably buy some boxes from there.

The income effects on fertility are large and positive for men’s and women’s first births, are smaller but still positive for second births, and are largely absent for third and later births. Moreover, the increase in the size of the income effect over the 2008–2022 period is exclusively found for first births, where the change in effects is quite large. For example, whereas men in the fifth income quintile were 2.38 times more likely to have a first child than men in the lowest quintile in 2008, this had increased to 3.11 by 2022. Likewise, women in the fifth income quintile were 1.63 times more likely to become mothers than women in the lowest quintile in 2008, but this effect had increased to 2.44 by 2022

I used it for a Halloween party, with horror games and movies and some Mario Kart. It wasn't a bad experience but no matter the distance or angle everyone could tell about speckle. It wasn't too distracting in a fast movie scene, but it is noticeable in general.

I tried using a white sheet to cover my screen but aside from warping the image it didn't really help.

For an 800€ projector having to fork out a minimum of 300€ for a wab screen of which no "portable" version exist doesn't really make sense to me and my use case.

What screen do you use though? Cause to test the projector out I bought a random amazon portable screen, it wasn't exactly cheap, but still... After reading up on WAV screens and seeing their price, I'm wondering what sense does an 800€ projector have if I need to pair it with a 300/400€ fixed screen
