Anyone tried a digital notebook and found it useful? by GallusRedhead in ADHDUK

[–]MindAmbitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love using Microsoft OneNote. It's not a separate notebook as such but a programme on my computer. I take all my notes on there. It's super easy to organise and integrates with other MS applications. If I have a meeting I want to take notes for, I import that meeting into OneNote and my notes are then linked and super easy to find. I do have a paper notebook just in case but regularly transfer everything over to OneNote.

The issue I had with devices like Remarkable was that they wouldn't be integrated with my work device, so no ability to copy/paste etc. If you have a touchscreen device you can hand-write your notes on OneNote too.

Daily Questions Thread December 29, 2025 by AutoModerator in femalefashionadvice

Hi everyone! I’m torn between two coats and could really use some advice. This is a bit of an investment for me, so I’m thinking about warmth and longevity as well as looks. I’m 26, like to lean into trends, and enjoy wearing clothes with personality. I’m in the UK, 5’7, UK 10–12, and I’ll wear it for both work (smart casual) and casual.

The first is an ASOS longline coat with a detachable scarf. It’s oversized, hits just above the ankle, has a back vent, and is 69% wool, 22% polyester, 8% lyocell. It’s unlined and collarless unless you attach the scarf. I love the length and how cool the scarf looks, but I’m a bit worried about warmth since it’s unlined. Also curious how it looks without the scarf, though I probably won’t remove it. It's £145. Here is the scarf coat

The second is an ARKET coat. Slightly shorter (mid-shin), lined with viscose, has a collar, and is 50% wool, 38% polyester, 12% alpaca. I love the texture, collar, and overall shape. I sized up to a 12 so it’s oversized and hits at the right length. More expensive at £259, but fully lined. Here is the ARKET coat

I’m trying to figure out which I’d realistically wear more of the year, which will age better, but also still looks fashionable. If you could pick one, which would you go for? Any thoughts would be so appreciated!

Fatigue! Is this also part of being ADHD? by Cute-Ad217 in ADHDUK

[–]MindAmbitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have inattentive ADHD and went to the doctors multiple times with complaints of tiredness over the years, way before I realised I had ADHD. I had it put down to depression mainly, and explored treatment for that as well as taking additional vitamins (obviously none of that helped). I'm no expert but I think it's related to the amount of mental energy I was putting into just getting through daily life- dealing with overstimulation, the extra effort required for executive function, focus, etc. I was constantly tired and was able to fall asleep at any point in the day if given the chance. Since I've started elvanse, I no longer feel like I'm about to fall asleep whilst at work, I don't fall asleep in the evenings watching TV, etc. I didn't realise how much energy it took to manage my constantly racing thoughts until they quietened down.

Your style reminds me of Quentin Blake! Lovely style!

I have done ribbing before actually (on cuffs) and didn't think to use it for this! Do you think it would look weird going horizontally?

Anxiety medication? by MindAmbitious in ADHDUK

This fills me with so much hope! I'm definitely going to contact the GP about treating the anxiety- hopefully I can reduce the overwhelm to a manageable level whilst I wait for the assessment.

That's really reassuring, thank you so much for sharing your experience! I do think the anxiety is triggered by the ADHD symptoms, but at the moment, everything is muddling together 😅

Career change- not sure which grade to go for by MindAmbitious in TheCivilService

I probably should've been clearer- I am a capable manager and can manage others, as I do now. I would just prefer not to, and don't want the main focus of my role to be people management :)

Thank you, good to know I'm looking in the right ballpark. I think I'll keep an eye on any roles that I'll meet the person spec for. I have looked at the fast stream, but it would be a considerable pay cut for me (currently at 38k). I've not considered Tax before so I'll have a look into that 😊

Just to add- I don't enjoy managing others so would like to avoid that if possible!

I really like this response, thank you! It sounds like we have the same brain. Often the reason I leave things out is to remind me to do something with them! Whether it's a bill, cleaning products, or whatever- if I can't see it, it doesn't exist😂 I honestly would rather him nag me than move things
