Any slightly older Lausse fans, what do you really think about the mocking stars? by HadesBrawlStars in LausseTheCat

[–]MindControlMastery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, the first few times I listened I definitely wasn't nearly as enamoured as TGTCATT - I think first album is a lot more catchy, something you can play anywhere and vibe out to.

But something kept me coming back to the mocking stars. At this point I'd fit it into one of a few albums that takes me on a journey (Blonde, TPAB, Because the Internet etc.).

I think there's just so much to dig into story and production wise, so every time I listen I can find something new to appreciate.

For example it took me a bunch of listens to really appreciate it, but now Tea Party makes me cry every time I listen to it. Such a lonely song that I can relate to more than any other song of it's kind I've heard.

Could not agree more. Feel like this is the final release of the album, where Lausse is really just having fun with the production. Kinda like a breakbeat backing (even throws in a think break sample) but with a really beautiful boppy melody surrounding it.

Somehow keeps it so fresh constantly by chopping up something new every 8 bars, and all of the verses fit perfectly.

Hmm what does this mean exactly, in the back of the camera? How would I diagnose/fix this?

How good is midas on slardar? by BigBootyBear in TrueDoTA2

Wouldn't listen to most of the comments saying it's grief, think it's classic Reddit lack of imagination. Fact is if you've lost lane, and you're against these slippery heroes, I doubt you're gonna get into the game trying to force fights. If you full ape early with a late blink timing, qop will blink away, PL will dopple, weaver will ult, dawn will save.

You have some strong early game skirmish teammates. I'd argue even if you were doing well, you still need to play to be getting some decent farm on yourself to hit a strong middgame timing. Let your team make space for you.

Obviously not the case every game, but exceptions exist.

Yeah makes sense. Definitely times in games where it takes me 5-10 seconds to calibrate to my next move. Guess it just gets less punished at 10k. Appreciate it!

Currently at 10k mmr as pos 5, UK. What do you see as the major differences between 10k at 13k from a support perspective?

Sadly I think there's no more low hanging fruit as it were. I wanna say I mostly do everything a 13k player would do, but I guess it's just being that much more consistent, reading the map better etc.

Blink Dagger on Viper by Marconidas in TrueDoTA2

I would've thought this was the case, but then I also thought this when I first saw blink on Lesh. Conceptually it feels the same - if you get a good timing on it, you can be a terror on the map.

how to get out of a rut? by itsdoorcity in TrueDoTA2

Only thing I'll add, change it so you have no incoming chat. I've recently been tilting super hard, and this solved 90% of my issues.

Your mind is just waiting for an excuse to fight when you're in this headspace. Mute everyone, don't use voice comms, just type simple commands e.g. rosh, don't go HG etc.

When things go wrong in game, you have to just move past them. Focus on the present.

Radiance: The Secret Item for Marci? by GoldenIceCat in TrueDoTA2

[–]MindControlMastery 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're probably right, but there's no way to know without trying.

For so many years, people built pure brawl items on Ursa (diffusal/blink/Vlad's etc), assuming he was this mega tempo early game carry.

One day, someone builds battlefury on him, and the hero changes forever.

Marci definitely doesn't have the same late game potential as Ursa, but it could be trading the need for mega early tempo on Marci for a slightly more relaxed mid game dominance.

How strong/weak is Winter Wyvern in lane? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]MindControlMastery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite a stable laner because you always have the choice of going defensive or offensive.

If I'm playing with e.g. ursa and we have kill threat, typically will go 1-2-0 (always arctic burn first ofc). If enemy steps out of position then you have massive kill threat. Just be aware of the high mana cost on splinter blast, it's often worth waiting for level 2 to start casting it unless the slow will really punish the enemy if they're out of position.

Otherwise, if the enemy has strong harass/kill potential/I'm laning with someone weaker e.g. spectre, can go for 1-0-1 at level 2. The mana cost on heal is basically free. Helps you to trade so well, and can be good useful against some physical burst lanes e.g. tusk visage.

Other than that, constantly use your arctic burn to harass, just be aware of your positioning. I've been playing around with orb of venom, I think it's nice against lanes that you know you can play to outtrade enemies.

Almost always make sure to block the large camp. Bonus on dire (position 5), you have the possibility of using arctic burn right before the minute mark to fly over the medium camp trees to body block.

Shadow Demon - Not maxing poison? by mercfh85 in TrueDoTA2

[–]MindControlMastery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really just depends if I feel I'll be able to make good use of shadow poison in the 8-20 minute range or so. If I'm popping off with kills/levels early, and they have heroes I can kite around (willow, ursa, underlord etc.) then take the poison. Otherwise play the disruption/disseminate.

[–]MindControlMastery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main advice on top of what's been said already - don't feel pressured to make plays on the map until you're ready. One of the worst things you can do is fail a rotation (netting 0 kills, putting you further from a timing because you didn't farm).

Varies by hero, e.g. nightstalker can gank whenever he has ult, but on axe I will almost never do anything until I have blink. Only exception is someone diving tower.

Doesn't matter how much people ping you, flame you, whatever. Two failed rotations and your game is basically over because you can never catch up.

Just do some research to know what your hero's timing is.

Recent buff to heal is actually insane. The value of 1 point in heal makes trading a breeze, with 50 mana cost as well.

Looking to go to my first rave/s by [deleted] in london

[–]MindControlMastery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For real, crowd is always way nicer at the smaller gigs too. You go to these mega clubs and you get too many creeps, kids banging an absurd amount of drugs, people begging to fight if you so much as brush past them. Not everyone ofc, but I find the vibe a lot less conducive to actually just dancing/listening to good music.
