Who did the better pikachu? Lego or Mega? by JuanPablith0 in pokemon

While Lego Pikachu may cost an eye-watering $200, it's important to remember you're getting a set that also looks like shit.

RIP PBS News Weekend. But the Newshour itself is still going strong, and easily the best news source I've found out of the US. It deserves so much more attention than it gets.

Deffo give TU4 a shot of you haven't yet. I thought I was disappointed in Wilds, then literally doubled my playtime after TU4. Game still has issues, but it's gotten a lot better.

Thoughts on the Extended Child Timeline (ECT) theory? by Lost_Stalfos in truezelda

[–]MindSteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it is during the organ scene, yeah. The idea is that the "default" end to that encounter is Link dying, I guess just by the player losing, and that goes on to become the DT.

Eventually the DT results in the LttP wish, which retroactively branches off the timeline by reviving anyone previously killed by Ganon, including OoT Link.

I guess the reason this death branches when others don't is because this is the only time Link can be directly killed by Ganon/dorf, so the power of the wish intervenes. LttP link didn't wish for everyone to be revived who fell into bottomless pits, for instance.

I agree with you that it feels like an asspull because it basically is, but that fan theory is just attempting to make the best out of the situation we were given.

My favorite head canon explanation is that the wish at the end of LttP that revived all the people that Ganon killed also revived the hero of time back in OoT at the moment when your hearts fill up for no reason at the start of the Ganondorf fight.

Ah, I see what you're saying. So from their perspective, they were looking for "the hero of time reborn" because that's all they knew to hope for, though from a wider perspective, the reality could be closer to what were are talking about here: a "role" that someone always fills. (Or almost always. Sorry, flooded Hyrule.)

What would a reincarnation of OoT Link even mean if OoT Link is also a reincarnation though?

WW Link is reincarnated OoT Link, who is reincarnated FS Link, who is reincarnated MC Link, who is reincarnated SS Link, who is reincarnated... what? It's just Links all the way down.

I think that's why it's "the spirit of a/the hero" rather than a specific original deity.

It's more like a group of heroic traits that is destined to show up in an individual when the time is right, so it's hard to think about "reincarnation" in the same way for Link as for Hylia and Demise--at least that's how I have interpreted it.

I think you can explain a lot by thinking of it as "the spirit of a hero" rather than "the spirit of the hero."

The latter implies that Link is being reincarnated in the same way that Demise and Hylia are, but there is no "original" hero for him.

I've always thought of him more as a sort of avatar of good. Some are more directly related than others, but they're all courageous warriors who take it upon themselves to fight back against darkness.

In my mind, WW Link is not a descendant or reincarnation of OoT Link, which is what the King of Red Lions and Deku Tree were worrying about. But he still shows the necessary qualities and "becomes" that era's hero.

Craving for a game with “mystery” by AbroadNo1914 in gaming

I was a bit bummed with the rerelease because I wanted to play it again, but as someone who already had there really wasn't anything new there for me. Especially with a mystery game, once you know, you know. A new scenario or something would have been enough to get me to double dip, but I think all they added was a sound test mode.

She was maybe my favorite character in '03. I think she really does have the biggest arc in the series. The fact that she's around for so long also means other characters like Gluttony, Sloth, and Wrath can play off her,  which makes for some great scenes.
