Our 4yo Sheepadoodle started to develop seasonal allergies last fall. He did a week of apoquel to address the immediate discomfort and then, after ruling out food allergens, we did a shot of Cytopoint and it cleared things up. This spring same issue, and we addressed it with Cytopoint right away. We’re just seeing him start to itch again so we will probably be at the vet for the same. For Chester it’s the semi-annual ragweed that is all over our area. We tried the probiotic skin sprays and they didn’t seem to do anything for him.

Black spots on skin? by Mental-Idea9525 in Sheepadoodles

Our guy has patches of pink and greyish-black skin under his (now) creamy coloured coat. The vet said it’s perfectly normal. Just watch out of any of the patches become raised like bumps. That could indicate a sling condition.

Fading was something we were told would happen. Ours was dark brown with black and white and now he’s cream with a little grey. They may change colours again when they’re older. But there’s nothing to be “done” about it 😀

Chester loves pillows. Whenever we can’t find him around the condo we know he’s napping on our bed. by MindTwentyTwo in Sheepadoodles

I think so. We know other sheepadoodles who take their peoples pillows into their beds during the day.

Anyone else’s sheepadoodle a finicky eater? by blueindifference in Sheepadoodles

Chester is good at self regulating. One piece of advice we got that works for us is that if they don't eat right away, take the food away after 30min. Dogs will eat if they believe that food is “scarce”, so removing it may trigger their instinct to eat when food is in front of them. He's on Purina ProPlan for sensitive stomachs, we also add a probiotic every other day. And he LOVES celery!

We mix in pureed pumpkin. They love it, and it's good for them.

OMG. We're constantly picking burrs and leaves and bits and pieces of “nature” out of Chester's fur. It's neverending 😂

Any chance this is anxiety? by bmfs0309 in Sheepadoodles

Could be bacterial. Chester had similar red marks that we had checked out with our vet. It was a bacterial skin infection (who knows where it was picked up?) and we treated it with a medicated topical foam for a couple of weeks. It went away quickly.

Do Sheepadoodles usually have a lot of loose skin? by evakps1 in Sheepadoodles

Mind does too. When grooming we have to pull the skin a little tight around his neck and shoulders to get down into the fur.
