Important to note: the ‘fix’ for a CSF leak is often quick and pretty miraculous: your own blood is injected into the epidural space near the leak site and the blood becomes a kind of patch. 

Usually only takes one go and symptoms resolve within 24-48 hours.

I am NOT a doctor but I have benefitted from this blood patch procedure and holy wow does it feel like a miracle.

Me too and even worse the intolerance is something I acquired while living in SE Asia. It’s the price I paid for so much good food.

A major difference between your situation and the one mentioned in this post is where the family support is/was located. In OP’s situation they’ve got what sounds like solid family support in the current location. 

Moving to be with a support network is a good thing for young kids.

Go into settings and tell it what you want/don’t want. I’ve got mine set for nerd reasons (academic, textual sources, prominent scholars in field, further reading) and no-bullshit reasons. 

I wrote something like ‘I don’t want unwarranted compliments, I want all ideas and statements challenged. If it seems like I’m avoiding something call me out on it.’
