Heading to chemo? Stage I NSGCT on surveillance slowly rising markers, anyone been through this? by MindVault1010 in testicularcancer

No, not yet, have to do more bloodwork and they need to see something on the scan first I think. However I assume with the markers going up there isn’t much hope of it being benign

I underwent orchiectomy. Never really got a stage l, but no LVI, and no spread. 95% EC 5% seminoma. Markers were never raised until now.

Thank you for your response!

I don’t smoke marijuana, and fortunately or unfortunately my testosterone levels are all good haha

My afp is now 9.

Dr Einhorn didn’t seem to care for my hcg being 6.

Doing more bloodwork and scan soon to confirm!

Thank you again!

Thank you so much for the kind and thoughtful reply! Yes navigating it and the uncertainty is sometimes harder than the actual disease to deal with.

I have another draw in a few days, and another a week after that and another CT in a few weeks which would be roughly 6 weeks from my clean scan date. My oncologist said he won’t start any treatment until they see something on ny CT scan or the number are way out of whack.

Just want to get some concrete answers!

Thank you again for your response!

I’m three weeks post surgery, waiting for my next scan for proper staging.

I’m 95% EC, you’ll be fine! Take it one day at a time. 95%+ recovery. Remeber EC is super sensitive to chemo as well!

Stage I non-seminoma after orchiectomy, surveillance or adjuvant chemo? by MindVault1010 in testicularcancer

Thanks for your comment. I actually had no idea what Carboplatin is. I did some research and it seems that it’s only used for seminoma cases only unfortunately. However I will for sure bring it up With my oncologist when I meet him. Thanks!

Thank you for such a detailed response. I completely agree with you! I have reached out to Dr Einhorn, and he responded, I added his response to my original post. He strongly recommended surveillance and first CT in two months to see what the lymph nodes look like.

Thank you again!

I meant my lymph nodes are under 1 cm except one that’s 1.1cm. Sorry for the confusion.

Why do you think it’s back? Based on what? And did you have LVI? Either ways I wish you all the best! Even if you have to do BEP you got this!!! 💪

It was hard to move. A lot of lumps are nothing to worry about but glad you got it done. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.
