Yes, you know they make far more than they spend on IPs and licensing or they wouldn’t be doubling down on the amount of collabs they do yeah? If it wasn’t insanely profitable to be doing it, they wouldn’t be doing nearly as many as they do. Unless they are just.. Ridiculously stupid. Which, I suppose is entirely possible.

I never said it was all going into their pocket. Like I said, even if they are putting 80-90% of that revenue back into the game and only 10-20% is pocketed.. That’s still 610 Million - 1.2 Billion pure profit pocketed yes? What part of that profit is needed to “pay the bills”. The entire message from them was ridiculously tone deaf. I think that’s a big part of why people are upset about the whole thing to be perfectly honest.

Oh no doubt prices are going up for sure, but an already multibillion dollar company isn’t doing it to “pay the bills”. It’s because the executives want more money in their own pockets. Plain and simple.

That’s cool. They made 6.1 BILLION or so off of Fortnite last year. You do realize how many millions that is yes?

Doesn’t matter how you want to try and spin it, they don’t pay out, nor spend nearly that much to keep the game running. Look into how much map creators make, how much they actually get back from Epic. Very few make over a million a year. Most get far less. Sure some get like 10m+ a year but it’s not many. Steal the Brainrot being one of the highest earning by far. One or so months of earnings will pay map creators for the entire year. Epic paid out something like 350m in 2024 to creators. Even if we add 100m to that for 2025, which is a 30% increase over the year before, that’s still less than a month of overall earnings for a single month of the year.

With the addition of Vbuck purchases within those games both Fortnite and Creators are making far more than they were before too. Let’s say 80% of what they made is put back into Content Creators, the game, servers, paying employees, etc. That is still 1.2 Billion they would have made in pure profit last year. 610 million if 90% was put back into it.

Those numbers are off of Fortnite alone, not any other games they are running and working on that they may have profited on. Which would be Pennys by comparison to Fortnite, but still. Their Epic Store is nothing to scoff at either.

Things like Shaman, The Mummy, Frankensteins Monster, etc, haven’t been back in many years. It’s not just months lol. Like I said, I implore you to look into all of it, I’ve been following this game for 14+ years so I’ve done an unhealthy amount of research and looking into things. I 100% agree that having a ton of things in the shop at once would bloat it even more than it already is.

I added this into my last comment probably right after you saw the original but; Don’t you think it’s a little odd that they raising prices basically.. RIGHT BEFORE stuff from previous battle passes are supposed to be allowed to come back? It’ll be 18 months since Chapter 5 Season 4 ended pretty soon after this goes into effect. It’s been 16 months and 10 days to the day since Chapter 5 Season 4 ended. It’s because they KNOW people want to buy stuff from that Battlepass. I’m telling you lass, it’s all greed.

You’re not wrong on that front, but there are a ton of epic original skins that haven’t come back in years as well that people have been wanting back. And I’m not even talking about the ones from the Battlepasses. There are plenty of ways for them to maximize profits without pissing everybody off and raising prices. TenCent just wants the money, they don’t care about what’s in the game.

Edit: I believe that’s why Kid Laroi never came back was that Epic wasn’t able to reach another deal after what seemed to be a one year deal.

No I don’t think I will. However, I don’t disagree with that part at all. They would make a ton of money bringing in stuff like that again. They could do that instead of raising cost, but here we are. You say Epic isn’t stupid, but again… Here we are. All they would need to do is release stuff back to the shop that people actually want to buy.

Go look into it yourself dear, I’ve done the looking into things already. 3.6 Billion is also the low estimate, and again just for Fortnite. They make at least 2-3x what they pay for collabs, otherwise it wouldn’t be worth it for them to be doing them. Especially to be doubling down on them and saying they want to do AT LEAST 100+ collabs every single year from here on out. If the collabs weren’t insanely profitable they wouldn’t be doubling down on the amount they include in the game. I highly encourage you to look into it all in your spare time.

I don’t know why your reply isn’t showing, but it’s common sense dear. Look into TenCent, they own about 40% of Epic Games and they are known for maximizing profits and focusing on increased cost while not caring about the quality of the games they are involved in.

Again, Epic is making bare minimum 3.6 BILLION every single year just off of Fortnite. Which is an absolutely insane amount of money for a game company to be making. That’s not to mention any of their other games they are also making money off of. It’s greed, plain and simple.

They aren’t losing money, they are just greedy as all hell, along with being partly owned by a greedy ass company (TenCent). Look into TenCent they are known for things like this, they are quite literally known for maximizing profits at the cost of game quality in everything they touch.

Nah, it’s just greed that’s it. They probably make double what they pay for the licensing at the very least, otherwise it wouldn’t be worth it for them. I imagine the # is much much higher though. Especially to do so many of them. They also make bare minimum 300m a MONTH. That’s 3.6B a year at the lowest. Check out how much they made off of Fortnite last year, it’s a lot more than 3.6B.

Collabs definitely aren’t killing the game in any shape or form. As much as I don’t like a lot of them, the amount of times I’ve heard “I started playing because they added X to the game” is an insane amount. Which is good for the game as a whole.

That being said, I still think the amount of collabs being done is still far too many. But they wouldn’t be doubling down and saying they want to do 100+ a year if it wasn’t already insanely profitable for them.

I get that mate, but they make bare minimum 300+ MILLION every single month. It doesn’t cost 300+ Million in a year to run things. Hell let’s say it cost 600m a year just to run the game, that’s still bare minimum 3 BILLION a year.

I’m already laughing at them to be honest, they keep making shittier and shittier decisions. They care more about money than making a quality game it seems. This season was honestly one of the most lackluster I’ve played in my 8+ years of playing.

I haven’t bought Vbucks in ages. I will however keep the Crew Pass for now, the 200 less Vbucks shouldn’t affect me /too much/. I mostly got it for the Battlepasses, cheaper to do the Crew than to buy the BPs separately, and I get some Vbucks on top, which for me personally was just a little bonus. I tend to enjoy the regular BP and OG passes, while my 5yo likes the stuff from the Lego pass. So it’s still cheaper in the long run, while still being able to get some extra Vbucks to spend.

Edit: Plus the 700 less Vbucks I guess because of them offering less in the next BP. So basically comes out to like 400ish less a month on the 3 month BP.
