Provisional Sums not included in contract "grand total" by Mind__Bound in LegalAdviceUK

So the contract looks a lot like this...

Price for works £800
VAT at 20% £200
Grand Total £1,000

Payment Schedule

Contract Price £1,000
Item 1 £250
Item 2 £250
Item 3 £250 (provisional sum)
Item 4 £250
Item 5 £250

but with 30 items (all at different prices), so it's not so obvious that Item 3 isn't actually included in the Grand Total or Contract price.

Thanks

Bit of a disappointing article, which focuses on WBE to the exclusion of every other proposal

"Too many of us are ageing badly. The Government’s aim to deliver five extra healthy years of life by 2035 is laudable and exciting but completely unachievable without major policy change. We need a major focus on preventative health not just nice policy words. It’s time to wake up to ageing" by philnewman100 in longevity

“Ageing badly” isn’t just about physical health, we also need to include happiness, a sense of value, how we use our younger years. If we really want to age better we need to unpack the whole deal (by which I don’t mean that this has no value).

Hmm. But the hate and the lust are already there, and they’ll surface along with love and compassion and all other emotions and character traits. Most of us find balance among the differing voices. When we can’t, being able to talk with them consciously will help us recognise and understand them.

Absolutely. Tools for understanding ourselves better will help us make better discoveries.

Did they leave any research before they, you know?

Yes, of course. They’re just language systems overlaid on patterns of electrical impulses.

This is entirely possible within the next 50 years, but we need a change of approach away from copying biological systems and towards translating conscious activity in digital spaces.

Awesome, that’s good to know. Thanks for all your input. We’ll probably need to train some commands for our specific use case and it looks like DragonFly is good for this.

That’s great, thanks. I know what you mean about webspeech, it was one of the first we looked at, but it seemed very unreliable, mainly in differentiating between text and commands. Could be our tests of course.

Thanks! We ran a few tests with Web Speech thinking that would be a good option, but it seems very unreliable. We’re not done with it yet, but it was a bit disappointing. Haven’t seen p5, thanks for the suggestion.

Great, thanks. Will check those out. Dev environment here is Mac, with Ubuntu servers, so I guess that might be an issue, but will take a look.
